Newfoundland and Labrador flag-map

Hi. I noticed that you're the one who made those flag-maps that we're using on the WPCANADA template, and I was wondering if you could make one for Newfoundland and Labrador, because I'm adding it to the template next. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 01:31, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to do that once, but it came up so bad, I deleted it. The province's shape is impossible (for this purpose), with the separate section in Labrador, while the flag is full of distinct features. I don't know how to go about it. Maybe a rectangular flag would look better in this case. And by the way, a div with padding-top:8px would solve the vertical alignment issue without using br's (diff). Cheers. --Qyd (talk) 01:46, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the tip about the div; I've figured out template codes, but html layout tags still confuse me. You're right that Newfoundland does not lend itself well to a flag-map, and I think your solution made a lot of sense. Do you have one for Nova Scotia yet? It should be a lot more straightforward. Also, if you get a chance it would be nice to have ones for the territories so we'd have a full set, but no rush. Thanks! --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 05:21, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Qyd I was curious what your interest in the Spirit River wikipedia site is? Do you live in Spirit River, or do you just know stuff about it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jay y6 (talkcontribs) 19:49, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No special interest, I normally keep an eye out for all pages about Alberta communities. --Qyd (talk) 19:35, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Depriciated template announcment

I just had to say that adding the {{{importance}}} and {{{class}}} tags in the "depreciated templates" warnings was brilliant. That will save a lot of time that would have been spent re-assessing articles after the changeover. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 03:47, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It could be used in the same manner to redirect to {{WPCANADA}} directly... then substituted... if consensus is reached on the involved wikiprojects. Massive conversion/cleaning is required anyway. --Qyd (talk) 04:10, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When I tried that with {{PPAP}}, I was reprimanded for adding so many unassessed articles to WP:CANADA at once. I'm not sure how such template re-directs differ from someone using AWB to change the templates themselves, but I didn't feel it was worth the argument. --Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 05:55, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

map of Alberta

There is an error on the map of Alberta. The lake named Sylvan Lake is in fact Pigeon Lake and Sylvan Lake is not shown. Pigeon Lake does indeed flow into the Battle River, but Sylvan Lake is farther south and feeds into the Red Deer River. Otherwise and great map and thanks.
