Regarding thumbnails

Hi, I wanted to gather more information regarding your addition of "thumb" to several photos in Wachovia. While I understand the rationale for the legacy Wachovia logo, where a caption is needed to differentiate it from the current logo, I don't see the need on the other logos. The meanings of the CoreStates, SouthTrust, and Westcorp logos all seem self evident, without an additional caption. Also, the gray box added by "thumb" and the distortion of the images, especially on the Westcorp logo, are not as aesthetic as the original logos by themselves.

I want to make sure that I'm not overlooking any benefits of the "thumb" qualifier before I make any changes.

Re: Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana

I think I know which user you're talking about... IP Address, 75.5.177.0? Thank you for reporting him, I was going to, but I'm not real clear on the formalities of reporting a vandal yet. I only know how to revert vandalism and give warnings. Have any tips on this? ZSoraz 18:03, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. ZSoraz 18:11, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't even check

You redirected it to an article that doesn't exist, so I did a search of articles with similar names, figuring you'd made a typo, found the "recurring characters" article and pointed it there. The best thing to do now would probably be to restore the full article and propose a merge, seeing as the content isn't on another page. --Closedmouth 04:51, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Guidelines

Guidelines, need I tell you, exist for a reason. Go read WP:FICT and you can see that the Madeline Fitzpatrick article fails to assert notability per any of the criteria established there. An edit war is a question of content. This is an issue of fan-driven enthusiasm for an article that is in clear disregard of Wikipedia standards as established by longstanding consensus. Eusebeus 19:30, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • True. I have added a comment to the LOC page and will redirect the others as well per the FICT guideline. If you wish to add in OOU context, however, please do so. Then the articles can remain standalone. Cheers, Eusebeus 19:34, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vanessa Hudgens

the pictures are real. her rep. confermed it76.116.99.168 12:08, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I un-redirected it because all of the other main characters have their own pages. If Zack & Cody and London are separate pages, then Maddie should be a separate page as well. However, if you want to merge all the main character articles to the list of characters page, that's fine but you need to do so to all of them not just Maddie.  Chantessy  14:40, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. I should have noticed it earlier.  Chantessy  16:55, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

It was a social experiment. i would not have had it on for long. I was curious as to the length of time that it would be up. I wanted to see how fierce the following is on this actress. I'll delete it from my account immediately. Thank you for your participation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by DrakeTain (talkcontribs) 21:49, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vanessa

I've put it on my watchlist since I did a revert of the gossip on Sunday before the confirmation. I totally agree with the full-protect on the page and I restored your comment to the editor above after he blanked it out. If he did what I thought he did he should get an indef block. User:Holly301293

I thought her last edit was more of a good faith addition to the article. Numerous news articles have mentioned the same information. I think your messages to her might seem a bit harsh and discouraging in a wp:bite sort of way. --NrDg 18:58, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AFA

The page of AFA boycotts has already been created, as List of American Family Association boycotts. It's linked from the Boycotts section, which now has a "Main article: " bit. Orpheus 23:57, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. It's mildly irritating to be accused of removing viewpoints over this, because the whole point of splitting out a lengthy list-type section into its own article is that you can include much more information than would otherwise be possible. Orpheus 00:01, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'd appreciate your input on this: Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts#User:Hal Cross - I think if we had more people like you with the right approach discussing on the AFA talk page, we could sort out these content disputes very quickly. This is an attempt to clear the path for that to happen. Thanks, Orpheus 09:50, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username

I have a concern about your username. While I realize you have had this name for quite some time and have been a productive editor, the username matches an organization's name, which is violation of the username policy. This could also be seen as a violation of the conflict of interest policy, especially if you have a connection to WAVY 10 and have edited/created several articles related thereto. You may want to change the name, which you can do at WP:CHU. Rlevse 12:00, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see you asked for a new username, adding "FAN". I think that's a wise move, for what it's worth. Thanks for the consideration.Rlevse 17:41, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ANI

Hi Wavy.

I made a notification on the ANI[1]. Do you think this is the right venue, or could there be a better noticeboard to place it? Hal Cross 07:13, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request for comment

Because of concerns over how I acted in semi-protecting the William Shakespeare article, I have opened a discussion on my use of my admin powers at User_talk:Alabamaboy#Request_for_comment_on_my_use_of_admin_powers. Based on how the comments go, I am prepared to give up my admin powers or accept other sanctions. I hope you will comment since you already voiced your opinion at ANI.--Alabamaboy 01:33, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Excuse me while I give myself one :) (seriously, I'm kidding). Mmm, cappuccino... Fvasconcellos (t·c) 22:15, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EdHughes.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:EdHughes.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:20, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

List of Colby's Clubhouse episodes

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article List of Colby's Clubhouse episodes, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page.

Mediation advice

Hi Wavy

AniMate seems to have prompted for formal mediation [2]. I've not been through the mediation application process before. What sort of things are the mediation people interested in knowing? Hal Cross 03:02, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kay Young

Are you sure Sunday was her last day? I swear I saw her reporting this evening. Ntropolis 22:46, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dingbat -- no, Fran -- no, Rebafan

You asked:

What's with Dingbat's obsession with user names starting with Rebafan{number here} of late?
Beats the heck outta me. I guess he got tired of Dingbat(year here) and Fran(number here). Perhaps he thinks changing up keeps the admins off guard? He could be on to something there. :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhett (talkcontribs) 18:38, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mitchel Musso

I removed stuff that is no longer in the {{infobox actor}} template. It doesn't show up anyway. --NrDg 00:01, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cinemaniac and Greg Ford

Hey, WAVY 10!! Remember me? Well, way earlier in the year I had a short discussion with you about Daffy Duck's resurgence in popularity at Talk:Daffy Duck and Talk:Looney Tunes: Back in Action. More recently, you answered my query at Talk:The Bugs Bunny Show concerning recent plans to bring to show to TV again. I'm happy to say that I am now an official editor, and in need of your help. You seem to be interested in animation and its history; would you mind dropping by the Greg Ford article and improving it? I just created it a few days ago, and since it was the first page I created, it lacks footnotes and many sources. Any knowledge that you can impart into the article will be appreciated. Regards, Cinemaniac 00:58, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

High School Musical 3

I apologize. There was no justification. I removed the wrong article. However, did you remove the article about the stars and Hudgens and Tisdale are signed on? It had 3 legitimate sources. The article said that the script is done and they are working on music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tennisboy1 (talkcontribs) 14:26, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
