Sri Siddharameshwar Maharaj was an unknown Saint born in 1888 in the village Pathri, Solapur, India and is popularly known as Guru of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj and Sri Ranjit Maharaj. Since his childhood he was very intelligent and had very sharp imbibe abilities. He studied spirituality at a monastery being run by his guru Shri Bahausaheb Maharaj in Hinchgiri in Karnataka state in India, whose goal was to educate people on "Final Reality" or "The Eternal Truth". He is one of the contemporary of Sri Ramana Maharshi.

Siddharameshwar Maharaj was a master of meditation and has spent time understanding nature and eternal reality in Bhagavadi, and Hinchgiri with his Guru and then in Sholapur and Bhagavadi after Bhausaheb dropped his body. He began spreading the teachings to his disciples in Bhagavadi, Sholapur and Mumbai in the 1930's. He wrote two books. One is entitled "Golden Day" and the other is called "Master Key to Self-Realization." There are also several other books in print containing his teachings. The first two books printed are compilations of several of his disciples handwritten notes and are called, "Amrut Laya," and "Amrut Laya 2." The most recent book of his teachings is a book that was noted down, edited and published by Nisargadatta Maharaj in 1961 and 1962 in Marathi language and has now been printed in English language and is entitled "Master of Self Realization."

Some examples of his words are given below:

  • If you go beyond the source you will find that there exists nothing.
  • Spiritual science is the science where self is considered to first and foremost.
  • Mind is a collection of determinants and doubts.

Siddharameshwar Maharaj died at the age of 48 giving his understanding to his disciples. It is said that dozens of his disciples became self-realized through his clear and lucid teaching.
