Alberto Dapigran "Bobby" Pacquiao is a lightweight boxer. He is the younger brother of the current WBC International Super Featherweight Champion, Manny Pacquiao. Along with fellow Filipino boxer Z Gorres, he is regarded for his endurance.

Boxing career

Pacquiao turned professional in 1997 and initially had very limited success while fighting in the Philippines. It was not until he fought Carlos Navarro that his career picked up. On June 17, 2005, he defeated Navarro for the World Boxing Council Continental Americas super featherweight title. Late in 2005, he defeated former champion Carlos Hernandez. In 2006, he defeated former world featherweight titlist Kevin Kelley.

In a match held on November 16, 2006 to defend his WBC Continental Americas title against Hector Velazquez, Bobby Pacquiao was stripped of his title for being three pounds over the weight limit.

The fight was derided for careless performances from both Velazquez and Pacquiao. Referee Kenny Bayless warned Pacquiao four times for performing too many low blows and disqualified him in the eleventh round. [1]

After his bout with Velazquez, Pacquiao started competing in the lightweight division. His lost first fight in that category against Humberto Soto by knockout in the 7th round. Later, he won against Fernando Trejo by technical knockout in the 4th round.
