Ákos Buzsáky (born May 7, 1982) is a Hungarian footballer who plays as a midfielder. He currently plays on loan for English side Queens Park Rangers.

Career

Buzsáky started his career at RTK (Rakosmenti Torna Klub) after that he continued MTK Hungária FC, and joined Porto under José Mourinho for £400,000 in July 2002. He was later loaned out to Portuguese Superliga side Academica de Coimbra in 2003-04. He had been playing for Porto's 'B' side in the Portuguese third division prior to signing for English side Plymouth Argyle.

Buzsáky joined Plymouth on loan until the end of the 2004-05 season after the former Hungarian Under-21 international captain impressed manager Bobby Williamson during a behind-closed-doors friendly against Torquay United.[citation needed] On the last day of his loan spell with Argyle, fans held up paper signs that read "Mr Chairman sign Akos now!" and "Buy Akos, Buy Akos!".[citation needed] This led to the board spending around £225,000 to make his move permanent, offering him a three-year contract.[citation needed]

He was a first team regular for Plymouth, and his form resulted in him being linked with West Bromwich Albion and Bolton Wanderers. After scoring 3 goals in the month, he was named one of the players of the month by the ITV programme "The Championship" for January 2007.

In October 2007 Buzsáky informed Plymouth he would not sign a new contract when his ran out in the summer. He was subsequently loaned to Queens Park Rangers, and the move was made permanent on January 8th 2008 for an undisclosed fee (believed to be £500,000). Buzsaky signed a 2 1/2 year Contract.[1] Buzsaky has signed for QPR.

On 2nd January 2008, QPR announced that they had signed Akos permanently, with his contract running until the summer of 2010.[2]

International career

Buzsáky is a full international for Hungary gaining his first cap on September 3 2005 against Malta in Budapest. He scored his first international against European champions Greece on November 21, 2007 in a Euro 2008 qualifier.

He scored his first international goal for Hungary on the 21st November 2007, in a 2-1 defeat at home against Greece, although the goal is credited by some sources as a Kostas Katsouranis own goal as it took a big deflection off the Greek midfielder.
