I know that "... in popular culture" sections are now to be shot on sight, but wouldn't there be some other way of working the cat in Alien into this article, probably through some "fictional ship's cats", as a way of showing that the tradition has even been carried over into sci-fi? It may be too early for this but I see the possibility of a good article about general use of ship cats separated from the list of cats especially if we start including more cats and fictional ones which will lead to further imbalance of the article. gren グレン 16:03, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
