Tat language

Tat language may refer to the following:

  1. Tat language in Dagestan and Azerbaijan, a southwestern Iranian language, one of the Pahlavi dialects, closely related to Persian. Native language of the aboriginal population settled in the central and coastal regions of Azerbaijan Republic. After the establishment of Republic in 1918 the Tat language was replaced with the Turkic due to some political reasons. Currently Tat language spoken as an unofficial language in Shamakhi, Ismayilli, Davachi, Siyazan, Khizi, Altiaghaj, Baku, Apsheron peninsula and etc.
  2. Tat language (Tati), a group of Northwestern Iranian dialects, including Takestani, closely related to Talysh language
