Passive

Passive has several meanings:

  • In grammar it describes a grammatical voice.
  • In electronics it describes components, circuits or pieces of equipment that perform no amplification and consume no power other than from the signal itself. See DI unit, electric guitar.
  • in any sexual activity involving penetration, passive refers to the receiving party, and active to the penetrating one

It is in all sense the opposite to active
