Schynige Platte view (the railway station is visible)

Schynige Platte is a Swiss mountain region near Wilderswil where the Schynige Platte Railway ends. It is elevated to about 1970 meters above the sea level and in good weather offers spectacular views to many surrounding mountains, including Jungfrau, Eiger, Silberhorn and others, as well as Thunersee and Brienzersee. Has the Alpine Garden where various alpine plants can be found together with labels, indicating their Latin names (many of these plants also grow around as wild species). Contains hotel and mountain restaurant.

Schynige Patter is a start point for the popular hiking trials to Faulhorn or First.
