Romany Malco (born November 18, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York) is an African-American actor and music producer. Getting his start as a rapper at age 7 under the name Kid Nice, he formed the rap group R.M.G. in his teens. The group moved to Los Angeles from Baytown Texas and changed their name to College Boyz. Under this name, Virgin Records signed the group, and their single "Victim of the Ghetto" went to #1 on the Billboard rap chart.

Later, Malco produced albums for artists such as Paula Abdul and CeCe Peniston and worked on film soundtracks. Malco was encouraged to start acting by John Leguizamo while he was working on the soundtrack to Leguizamo's film, The Pest.

Malco plays Conrad Shepard on the show Weeds, and recently appeared in the films The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Blades of Glory. He also portrayed rapper MC Hammer in the TV movie Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story, which aired on VH1 in 2001. In 2000, he played Jerry Hooten in Level 9.

In regards to his career, friend Judd Apatow advised Malco that street cred is important and that it is necessary to be selective when taking roles. "I didn’t come to this business broke and needing a job," Malco said of his career, "I actually came to this business saying no."[1]
