Paweł Tadeusz Howard Abbott (born 2 December, 1981 in York) is a professional footballer who plays for Darlington in League Two as a striker.

Born to Polish mother and English Father, youngest of 2, Abbott began his footballing career as a youth player at ŁKS Łódź in Poland, before moving to Preston North End at the age of 19.

He didn't have the best time at Preston making only 20 appearances in 3 years and therefore subsequently had 2 loan spells at Bury.

In early 2004, "Pav" was signed on loan by Huddersfield Town as a makeshift replacement for Jon Stead who had just been sold to Premiership side Blackburn Rovers. He scored on his debut after coming off the bench against Bristol Rovers. He was then bought for a fee of around £125,000.

He caused Huddersfield to miss out on automatic promotion from Division 3 in 2003-04, after a poor back-pass to goalkeeper Paul Rachubka on the last day of the season in a match against Cheltenham Town, which saw Torquay United achieve promotion instead. Huddersfield were subsequently promoted via the play-offs.

In July 2006, Abbott rejected a move to Milton Keynes Dons as part of a deal or no deal with their defender Dean Lewington. He said that he wanted to fight for a first-team place against Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Andy Booth, John McAliskey and new signing Luke Beckett.

On January 22 2007, he signed for Swansea on a two and a half year deal for a transfer fee of £150,000. He spent only six months at Swansea, before moving to League Two side Darlington for £100,000.
