Seperate page for Pirates of the Caribbean film trilogy

I think there should be a seperate page for the Pirates of the Caribbean film trilogy. Like the page for the entire franchise, this new page should feature links to the three main articles about the movies, but provide quick descriptions about each one and maybe have some quick descriptions for the games based on the films with links to the main articles as well. Inaccurate Section

What happened? This section is wildly inaccurate:

Pirates of the Caribbean was first envisioned in the late 1950s as a walk-though wax museum, but premiered at the 1964-65 World's Fair in New York City as a flume boat ride that showcased Disney's new Animatronics technology.[1] At that time, Pirates of the Caribbean had been ahead of its time, employing advances in technology that allowed the pirates and other characters to appear real and seem to interact with the riders. The attraction at the World's Fair enthralled guests, who underwent an experience where pirates would sing to the tune of Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me), while cannon blasts, burning buildings, and other special effects occur. Coming off its success at the World's Fair, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride opened at Disneyland, California on March 18, 1967,

The attraction did not premiere at the World's Fair—its first incarnation was the 1967 version at Disneyland. The four pavilions Disney created for the fair (it's a small world, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, The Magic Skyway and Carousel of Progress) ushered in technological advances that later were applied to the then-in-development pirate attraction. It's also a stretch to say the attraction's pirates "interact" with riders. —Whoville 01:21, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps wildly inaccurate was an exaggeration, but I reworded the first sentence to correct it. If you feel it's still not good enough, you are free to edit it. -- tariqabjotu (joturner) 02:06, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Added attraction infobox

According to Wikipedia:WikiProject Disneyland this article had an attraction infobox in it. In fact, Pirate's infobox was used as the template for other attractions. However, I didn't find it in the article, so I put it in. Disneyfile 22:24, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article is for the franchise, not the ride, so I don't think the infobox belongs here. --blm07 23:46, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Volvo Race

Just a note - the name of the team participating in the race was The Pirates of the Caribbean. The name of their boat; however, was The Black Pearl. This has just been changed.

Academic voice anyone?

I tried editing this page so that it was in a bit more of an academic voice and more accurate than simply repeating the phrase "and others." This has since been largely reversed. This article could use a crackdown.24.8.20.66 04:08, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Television Series

Fair use rationale for Image:NES AiTMK - Pirates.png

Image:NES AiTMK - Pirates.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The Video Game List

"Another video game..." "Another video game..." "Another video game..." That section could be reformatted or taken out entirely, especially since PotC video games have their own article.Perhaps it canbe replaced with "To date, X video games have beenreleased on Y systems, including blah blah blah." - 66.173.194.212 (talk) 02:46, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
