The Kherson Shipyard specializes in building merchant ships and is located in Kherson, Ukraine at the mouth of the Dnieper River. The types of merchant ships constructed here include dry cargo ships, tankers, and floating dry dock. The most impressive were the Arctic barge carriers of the Aleksey Kosygin class (40,900 DWT) delivered in 1983.[1]
