Kat Dennings (born June 13, 1986) is an American actress.

Biography

Personal life

Katherine Litwack was born to a Jewish family in the Bryn Mawr/Wynnewood area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,[1] where she was raised. Her mother, Ellie Litwack, is a poet.[2] Her brother, Geoffrey Litwack, writes a blog.

Dennings keeps a series of video blogs on YouTube. She has also been writing her own personal blog since February of 2002. She is a self-proclaimed lover of baby animals, Shojo manga, and cheese. She is an avid reader, and is friends with author Andrea Seigel. She is also a huge Steve Martin fan.

In 2005 she dated Ira Wood (brother of Evan Rachel Wood), whom she brought to The 40-Year-Old Virgin world premiere. In 2007 she began seeing Criminal Minds star Matthew Gray Gubler.

Dennings began her acting career in a 2000 episode of the HBO series Sex and the City, before being cast as a regular on the show, Raising Dad, which was short-lived. Since then, she has appeared in a number of television shows and movies, including the 2005 film The 40-Year-Old Virgin and the 2004 Hilary Duff film Raise Your Voice. Dennings also appeared as the character "Zoe" on several episodes of ER in 2005 and 2006, and was a guest star on CSI:NY, playing Sarah Endecott in the 2005 episode "Manhattan Manhunt".
