UST Global (previously known as US Technology Resources, LLC) is a provider of end-to-end IT services and business process outsourcing solutions for Global 2000 companies. The company has been recognized in the press for its success in IT outsourcing, and at present has more than 5000 employees, many of them based in India. The company was founded in Laguna Hills, California in 1998 by Steve Ross.

Awards and Standards

UST Global was assessed by KPMG at SEI CMMI Level 5 and P-CMM Level 5 for its global operations. The People CMM helps organizations characterize the maturity of their workforce practices, establish a program of continuous workforce development, set priorities for improvement actions, integrate workforce development with process improvement, and establish a culture of excellence.

In September 2006, UST Global received its ISO 27001 certification—recognizing the company’s information security initiative. ISO 27001 aims to ensure that adequate controls addressing confidentiality, integrity and availability of information are in place to safeguard the information of its clients. This certification was renewed in April, 2007.


Controversy

In early 2008 a California arbitrator ruled that US Technology Resources, LLC must pay Stephen J. Ross $7.5 million for his founding interest in the company. US Technology had disputed the extent of Ross's actual contributions [6][7].
