Barrierfreeman (バリアフリーマン) is a character from Yudetamago's manga and anime series Kinnikuman Nisei (Ultimate Muscle).

Barrierfreeman is a Gattai Choujin (合体超人,, Composite Superman), and is the fusion of the young man Nils (ニルス) and the old man Jiijoman (ジージョマン). Nils' serious consideration towards barrier-free has made him a hero of the senior community, while Jiijoman's violent fighting style and lecherous personality disappoints the seniors. Near the end of their match with Mantaro, Nils allows Mantaro to defeat them and then leaves.

Afterwards Jiijoman also reforms, and from then on they appear as Idol Choujins. Lately it seems as though Jiijoman is becoming a separate person from Nils.

Jiijoman

Barrierfreeman's old body. He was a big name Choujin wrestler in the old days, but his constant acts of sexual harassment resulted in him being sealed away in a tree. He later meets Nils and they become Barrierfreeman. He usually has a very slender build, but when the acupuncture point on his back is struck by an arrow (or some such weapon) his body becomes more muscular. This aspect is only revealed in the Demon Seed Arc. His is the only form active during the Ultimate Choujin Tag Arc.

In the Japanese Ending Credits he is listed as Barrierfreeman J (バリアフリーマンJ).

Nils

Barrierfreeman's young body. Because he is a young Choujin Wrestler he is inexperienced with power and strength and barely wins any matches. Just as he is about to give up he comes across Jiijoman in the tree and is conned into becoming Barrierfreeman. At first he is always bickering with and defying Jiijoman, but by the Demon Seed Arc he has matured into a calmer Seigi Choujin. However, he does not appear at all in the Ultimate Choujin Tag Arc.

In the Japanese Ending Credits he is listed as Barrierfreeman N (バリアフリーマンN).

Techniques

Narayama Backbreaker (楢山バックブリーカー)
As Jiijoman, Barrier opens his ribs like a Lion Mouth (ライオンマウス) and grabs his opponent's feet, holding them in place. He then flips them up, causing their back to touch the top of his head, and grabs their wrists, performing a powerful backbreaker. While this technique is being performed, Barrier can switch to Nils, who is actually stronger, but the hold is weakened because he has to hold the opponent's legs under his arms instead of in the Lion Mouth.
Sai no Kawaru Lariat (賽の河原ラリアット,, Children's Limbo Lariat)
As Jiijoman, Barrier loosens the skin on his arm and stretches his arm out. He then performs a giant Lariat on his opponent.
Namu Amiba - Butsudan Kaeshi (南無阿弥陀・仏壇返し,, Buddha, Forgive Me - Altar Return)
From behind his opponent, Barrier places one arm under their arm and the other around their neck. He then bends backwards, slamming their head into the mat.
Tsuru wa Sen-nen Kame wa Man-nen Punch (鶴は千年亀は万年パンチ,, The crane is 1,000, the turtle is 10,000 Punch)
Using the palms of his hands, Barrier performs multiple precision punches.
Iboji Mount (イボ痔マウント,, Hemorrhoid Mount)
While fighting as Jiijoman he mounts his opponent and is able to hold the mount position with a hemorrhoid that sticks to his opponent.
Debana Shigure (手鼻時雨,, Nose Drizzle)
Barrier closes one nostril with his finger and launches mucus at his opponent out of the other.
Chichi Obi Mekurumashi (乳帯目眩まし,, Blinding Breast Obi)
Jijoman throws a bra into the opponent's face, covering their eyes and blinding them.

Story

Prehistory

Nils was a worker senior's retirement home and he helped seniors with their problems. But one day a senior under his supervision fell down the stairs. He felt guilty about the fact that even through he was a superhuman he couldn't do anything about it. Nils saw how much money could be made through Choujin wrestling and the money could used to fix the safety problems in the retirement home and help old people across the world. He then began his wrestling career as a new Choujin Wrestler. But because of his inexperience in fighting and lack of training he lost nearly every match he was in. One day out of frustration while he went to chop up large amounts of wood for the retirement home and ranted about the fact he has noble cause he couldn't win a lot of matches. Jiijoman overheard this and asked Nils to free him from the tree so he can be stronger. Nils agreed and he freed Jiijoman and became one with him. After merging with Jiijoman, Nils called himself Barrierfreeman and won every tournament he entered.

Choujin Olympics: The Resurrection

Barrierfreeman managed to help all the seniors of Sweden. After Ikeman announced the new choujin olympics; Barrierfreeman saw this as a chance to advance his cause globally. He defeated the other choujins to become Sweden's representative. He also paid for the seniors' seats at his matches. Barrierfreeman manages to make it past the peliminaries of the tournament and advance to the final part of the Olympics. Barrierfreeman was the next opponent that Mantaro had to fight. During the fight Barrierfreeman's younger self was mostly at a disadvantage and was losing to Mantaro until he switched into jiijoman who managed to nearly beat Mantaro until he was knocked out of the ring. He slapped away one of his old fans so he could be helped by the younger ladies Mantaro was hanging out with in the previous night. Jiijoman reenter the ring and was about to beat Mantaro until he switched to the Nils who wants to finish him off with his version of the Narayama Backbreaker. Mantaro manages to break out of the more flawed Narayama Backbreaker. Nils is nearly beaten by Mantaro until he is convinced by Jiijoman to switch to him. Jiijoman puts up more of a fight until he gets knocked out of the ring again and he swats away a group of Nils' fans. Terry the Kid finds out Jiijoman's identity and reveals it to crowd. The old citizens get angry and yell Jiijoman. In response he says that he was never interested in helping them. Jiijoman has a mental conflict with Nils because of this. Jiijoman attacks Mantaro with even more ferocity than before since his reputation is ruined and he won't get to do it with the young ladies. Mantaro however manages turn the tide against Barrierfreeman because of his conflicting minds and manages to break the Narayama Backbreaker. Jiijoman gets a brutal beating from Mantaro for his deception but tries to switch and escape from Nils' body so it wouldn't count as a victory but Nils won't let him since he tricked everyone. Nils gets caught in the Muscle Millineum on purpose to punish himself for being deceived by Jiijoman and Jiijoman tricking everyone. Nils' fans ask him to finish off Jiijoman but he refuses because he is also a senior citizen. Nils manages to resolve his conflict with Jiijoman and leaves.

Demon Seed Arc

Barrierfreeman reappears as an Idol Choujin during the Demon Seed Arc and fights The Tattooman for Meat's right arm. Barrier sustains large amounts of damage from Tattooman's Great Edo 108th Street Drop and his Jitte attacks. After a magnificent battle, he defeats The Tattooman via double knockout with the Narayama Backbreaker. (more to come)

Barrier is later seen with the other fallen Idol Choujins during the final showdown with Reborn Ashuraman, helping Mantaro climb back into the ring. He and the other fallen Idol's are later revived by the Reborn Diamond.

Ultimate Choujin Tag Arc

Barrierfreeman is one of the Time Warp 8 and travels back in time to the days of the Legends (right after the Dream Choujin Tag Arc conclusion) in order to save Robin Mask from being killed and, by extension, Kevin Mask from being erased from time. During the construction of the time ship he is in charge of Team 3, who are to find the Jikan Choujin's horns for ship fuel (although Barrier spends the entire time reading dirty magazines). On the day of departure he tries to sneak a large amount of adult toys onto the time ship, but Meat reduces his load to just his diapers and false teeth.

After arriving in 1983, a humorous scene occurs when Barrier attempts to purchase a drink with a ¥500 coin, unaware that vending machines back then only took ¥10, 50, and 100 coins. When the Ultimate Choujin Tag Tournament is announced, he teams up with Ilioukhine to form Hinotama: Hijiitai (火の玉・飛爺隊,, Fireball: Flying Fogey Squad). During the preliminary Battle Royal they confront the Five Disastors. Although the Five Disastors easily dominate them and move on to other opponents, Barrier and Ilioukhine come back and momentarily incapacitate them with the Carnal Desire Payment Bell Toll. When they see that Mantarou is about to be taken out by Neptuneman and Seiuchin's Optical Fiber Cross Bomber, they immediately perform their TOKKO ATTACK and shove Mantarou out of the way. As result, they become the victims of the Optical Fiber Cross Bomber and the skin on their faces is peeled off.

After the Battle Royal is over, the rest of the New Generation (as well as Chaos and Robin Mask) find Ilioukhine's black box and hear Hinotama: Hijiitai's final farewell. Later, during the reserve match between The Tegatana'rs (Geronimo and Brocken Jr.) and the Five Disastors, the spirits of Ilioukhine and Barrier arrive to support Geronimo, giving him the Firendship Power he needed to perform his Apache Death Scream and destroy Thunder's "Legend" Destruction Bell.
