Fredrik Eklund (born January 17 1977 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a New York City real estate broker, a former Information technology (IT) entrepreneur in his native Sweden, a gay porn actor (under the pseudonym Tag Eriksson, also written Tag Ericsson) and a novelist.[1]
Biography
Family
Eklund is the brother of the author Sigge Eklund and the son of Klas Eklund, who used to be the chief economist of Sweden's largest bank, SEB, as well as one of prime minister Olof Palme's closest allies. His paternal granddparents were the Swedish actors Bengt Eklund who starred in several Ingmar Bergman movies and Fylgia Zadig.[2][3]
Early career
Eklund's first American experience was as a high school exchange student in Edina, MN. After returning to Sweden, Eklund studied at the Stockholm School of Economics, but never graduated. He has also worked for the financial newspaper Finanstidningen. During his student days, he was involved in the Stockholm gay club scene, and with some friends started a club named "Billy." In 1999, Eklund founded the internet company Humany, together with his father and former prime minister Carl Bildt on the board. At the age of 23, Eklund was the CEO of a company with 45 employees. [2] With the passing of the dot-com bubble, Eklund started a music production company, Cave Entertainment. He published 8 song writers with #1 hits in Japan, Sweden and on the Billboard Latino list.
Acting
Before leaving Sweden for New York City, Eklund entered a career in gay pornographic film under the pseudonym Tag Eriksson (or Tag Ericsson). He starred in the porn comedy movie The Hole (2003), and for this role won a GayVN award for "Best Solo Scene." He appeared in six additional pornographic movies with Jet Set Productions. Simultaneously he also worked as an IT programmer for SEB Investment bank internationally, which helped him make the next move into a more serious career. He has regularly given interviews about this phase in this life in Swedish as well as international press. He claims his background in acting has not affected his career negatively.
Real estate
In New York City Eklund became Vice President at the Chelsea office of the real estate company JC DeNiro & Associates and was nominated for Rookie of the Year by the Real Estate Board of New York 2003.[2] Eklund is currently working as Managing Director at the New York City real estate firm CORE Group Marketing. In February 2008 he sold an apartment to Cameron Diaz.[4].
