Johnny Kashmere is an American professional wrestler, best known as one half of The Backseat Boyz, along with Trent Acid. Kashmere has competed in Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Unplugged, Combat Zone Wrestling, Assault Championship Wrestling, Premier Wrestling Federation, and in Japan.

Career

Johnny Kashmere debuted in Combat Zone Wrestling in 1999 and formed a team with Robbie Mireno called The Kashmerinos. Together, they won the CZW Tag Team Championship. They wrestled many matches against Trent Acid, who Kashmere would later team up with to form another successful tag team called The Backseat Boyz. With Acid, Kashmere won the CZW Tag Team Championship four times. They competed against the Briscoe Brothers, VD, the H8 Club, and a number of other teams. In 2003, Johnny Kashmere, along with Trent Acid, joined the Hi-V and feuded with Zandig. This feud came to an end at Cage of Death V in the Cage of Death match. Kashmere was the unlucky member of Hi-V to have to start the match against Zandig. Although he was the first one in, he quickly got help from his stablemates and Zandig was soon outnumbered. Despite the early advantage, Kashmere was eliminated and the Hi-V lost the match. After losing, Hi-V broke up. Kashmere continued teaming with Acid as The Backseat Boyz, but would soon leave CZW in 2004.

Kashmere and Acid also wrestled as The Backseat Boyz in Ring of Honor. They debuted in 2002 at Glory By Honor and defeated the team of Homicide and Steve Corino. Kashmere wrestled in many scramble tag matches and regular tag matches with Acid against teams like Special K, The Ring Crew Express, The Carnage Crew, and Da Hit Squad. At Glory By Honor II, one year after his debut, Johnny Kashmere won the ROH Tag Team Championship with Trent Acid by defeating Special K in the final match of a gauntlet to crown new champions. Kashmere and Acid became the first team ever to win the tag team championship in both ROH and CZW. They lost the title a month later to Special K. The Backseats continued wrestling together in ROH until Johnny Kashmere left in 2004.

Pro Wrestling Unplugged opened in 2004 mostly under the leadership of Johnny Kashmere. PWU is now headquartered out of the New Alhambra Arena (former ECW Arena). Kashmere also runs the XFC Wrestling Academy, which is affiliated with Pro Wrestling Unplugged.
