Einat Haran 1979

Einat Haran, the daughter of Smadar and Danny Haran, was born in Nahariya, Israel on 03.01.1975. When she was 2 years old her young sister, Yael was born.

During the night, from Saturday, April 22, 1979 to Sunday, a group of four militants from the Palestine Liberation Front (PLF) led by Samir Kuntar[1] entered an apartment building on Jabutanski Street where Einat lived. One of the militants was killed by a resident. Neighbors, who heard the militants shooting, hid in an underground shelter. Einat and her father were also on the way to the shelter, but two armed men took her and her father as hostages and retreated towards a beach. They also crashed into her flat to search without a success for her younger sister Yael and her mother Smadar.

While escaping from the police, three of the militant members of the The PLF (Palestine Liberation Front is a Palestinian militant group which is listed as a terrorist organization by Canada,[2] the European Union,[3] and the United States.) entered an apartments block in Jabutanski St. 61 where Einat lived. They entered the building while shooting, the neighbors whom heard the shooting escaped to the shelter in an underground. One of the militants was killed by a neighbor. Einat and her father were also on the way to shelter, but the two armed men took her and her father in force to the beach, not before crashing into her flat in searching without a success for her younger sister, Yael and her mother Smadar.

According to eyewitnesses, Samir Kuntar killed Einat's father, Danny in front of Einat and then smashed the little girl's skull against a rock with his rifle butt. In mean time, Einat's two years old sister, Yael while in the hiding place at home, suffocated to death as a result of her mother's attempts to keep her quiet.

The killing of Einat is regarded as the most brutal terror attack in the history of Israel. [4][5][6][7].
Samir Kuntar, the killer of Einat and her father is regarded as a national hero in Lebanon.
