Zack Sabre, Jr. (born 24 July, 1987) is a British professional wrestler, who hails from The Isle of Sheppey in Kent. He is the current holder of the NWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Championship and a product of the NWA-UK Hammerlock training school. He started training with NWA-UK Hammerlock at the age of 14, under the guidance of Jon Ryan and Andre Baker. He is known for his technical wrestling style, where he perfects various wrestling holds and pinning combinations, along with hard hitting strikes. Zack has had various battles throughout his career, with wrestlers such as Go Shiozaki, El Generico, Martin Stone, Prince Devitt and Bryan Danielson, amongst others.

Career

On October 22, 2005, Zack defeated Falcon in Whitehaven, Cumbria, to capture the NWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Championship, which he has held since.[2][3]

On July 22, 2006, Zack defeated David DeVille at the Tap 'N' Tin, Chatham, Kent to retain his NWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Championship. [4]

On September 20, 2006, Sabre Jr retained his NWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Championship against Paddy Morrow in a draw, at the Tap 'N' Tin in Chatham, Kent. [5]

On February 28, 2007, Zack successfully defended his NWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Championship agaisnt Jimmy Havoc at the Tap 'N' Tin in Chatham, Kent.[6]

On July 18,2007, Sabre Jr successfully defended his NWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Championship against Jamie Stirling at the Tap 'N' Tin in Chatham, Kent. [7]

On April 25, 2007, Sabre Jr successfully defended his NWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Championship against El Generico. [8]

On August 29, 2008, Zack Sabre Jr will make his debut for 1 Pro Wrestling. He is also wrestling for 1 Pro Wrestling the day after.[9]

3 Count Wrestling

On January 26, 2007, in Billingham, Zack made his debut for 3CW at their 'FREE IV ALL' event. He took part in their 30-man 'FREE IV ALL' battle royal, which included Jekkel, Exodus, Stevie Lynn, Pac, SUWA, Blake Norton, Doug Williams and many more. Darkside was the eventual winner of the contest.

On May 18, 2007, in Billingham, White Tiger & The Last Ninja defeated The Kraze (Marky B Kraze & Busta Kraze) and T-Emo (Zack Sabre Jr & EdEn), in a single fall triangle tag team match.[10]

AWA Superstars of Wrestling:UK

On February 11, 2006, Zack defeated NWA:UK rival Devilman.[11]

Though considered an underdog by many, Zack Sabre, Jr. has made it through to the final fourteen of the British National Championship Tournament, hosted by IPW:UK. In the first round of the tournament, Zack defeated "Hated Heroes" member, Aviv Maayan. In the second round of the tournament, Zack was pitted against All Star Wrestling regular, Mikey Whiplash. Zack managed to pick up the win over the more experienced Whiplash, thus scoring a place in the final fourteen. In the final fourteen Zack was scheduled to wrestle The Last Ninja of 3CW, however due to complications, Jules Lambrini took Ninja's place but was defeated by Sabre, Jr. This win scored Zack a place in the quarter finals of the tournament, where he is scheduled to wrestle "The Wonderkid" Jonny Storm. Celtic Wrestling

On November 4, 2006, Celtic Wrestling taped episodes eight and nine of "Chaos TV". On episode eight, Zack and "Flying" Mike Bird were the remaining men in a 6-man elimination match and went on to a time limit draw. Due to the previous draw, Zack and Mike Bird were pitted in a singles bout for Zack's NWA United Kingdom Junior Heavyweight Championship on episode nine, where Zack retained the title.

On November 18, 2006 at the British Under 23's Championship, Zack teamed with his partner Jimmy Havoc, as they took on the team of Jexodus in a Triple X Wrestling guest match. Zack & Jimmy lost the bout, but gave a strong effort. It wasn't until April 13, 2007, when Zack returned to IPW:UK in Hayling Island. Zack lost to his current partner Paul Robinson. Just one day later on April 14, 2007, in Buckland, Zack Sabre Jr defeated Paul Robinson to gain his first victory in IPW:UK. [13][14] Three months later, on July 27, 2007, in Sittingbourne, Zack lost to Mark Sloan.[15] Zack would once again be in the ring with Mark Sloan and Paul Robinson on November 11, 2007, in Sittingbourne, in a four-way scramble match that also included Wade Fitzgerald. The experience paid off for Mark Sloan, who came out victorious.[16] IPW:UK's second show of 2008 took place on January 27 and saw Sabre make his debut in Orpington, which is considered by many to be the home of IPW. Zack was featured on the "No Escape" afternoon show, where he managed to defeat Mark Sloan and Wade Fitzgerald in a triple threat match.[17] IPW's annual "Battle Royale" took place on March 16, 2008. Zack drew number nine but was eventually eliminated by Martin Stone.[18]

Zack currently wrestles for IPW:UK as part of "The Leaders Of The New School" faction, alongside Paul Robinson, Marty Scurll and Nikko Brixton.

LDN Wrestling

On March 17, 2007, Zack made his debut for LDN Wrestling when he went up against Yorghos. The match was featured on LDN Capital T.V, shown on Sky Digital's TWC:Fight.[19]

NWA Ireland

On July 15, 2007, Zack competed on NWA Ireland's 4th Anniversary show at the Ballywaltrim Community Centre in Bray, County Wicklow. He defeated William Douglas Hawksworth in an Ireland Vs England Flag Match. [20]

On December 13, 2007, Zack was defeated by Phil Boyd in a match for the NWA Ireland Heavyweight championship, which took place at the Ballywaltrim Community Centre in Bray, County Wicklow. [21]

NWA Wales

Sabre, Jr has made two appearances for NWA Wales, who worked in co-operation with NWA-UK Hammerlock for a short time. On November 24, 2006, in Newport, Zack defeated Jimmy Havoc to retain the NWA-UK Junior Heavyweight Championship.[22] Then on May 5, 2007, in Newport, Edd Ferris defeated Zack Sabre Jr.[23]

On June 21, 2008, Zack took part in an exclusive British six-man tag team match, on the pre-show of Pro Wrestling NOAH's UK tour at the Coventry Skydome. The team of Hubba Bubba Lucha (El Ligero & Bubblegum) & Luke "Dragon" Phoenix defeated Sabre Jr, Dave Moralez & Mark Haskins.

On June 22, 2008, Zack Sabre Jr fought to a twenty-minute time limit draw, with the current holder of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship, Yoshinobu Kanemaru.[24]

On August 18, 2006, Pro Wrestling NOAH's Go Shiozaki defeated Sabre, Jr.[25]

Super Wrestling Aliance

On July 7, 2007, Zack debuted in Spain for the Super Wrestling Alliance, as part of their King Of The Ring tournament. In the first round, Zack defeated Jack Fonso. In the semi final, Zack defeared Lee Flynn. In the final, Zack lost to fellow NWA representative Paul Tracey.[26]

Zack Sabre, Jr. was a large part of the now defunct Triple X Wrestling, where he teamed with fellow NWA-UK Hammerlock wrestler Jimmy Havoc and had numerous matches with Stiro, Jexodus, Ashton Smith, Chris Stone and many more.

On May 21, 2006, at "Name: To Be Confirmed", Zack teamed with Jimmy Havoc, Andy Krae & Violet, as they defeated Jetta, Chris Stone, Danny Williams & Peter Jay.[27]

On July 16,2006, at "Chop Him In The Face!!!", Zack & Jimmy Havoc defeated Stiro & "Hardcore" Keith Myatt.[28]

On September 3, 2006, at "~", Zack lost to Stiro in a qualifier for the British Under 23's Championship tournament.[29]

On October 29, 2006, at "Halloween Jimmy Havoc", Zack defeated Stiro in a rematch, which was contested over two out of three falls. Zack won the match at 2:1.[30]

On February 11, 2007, at "Chop Him In The Valentines!!!", Zack defeated Ashton Smith.[31]

On April 8, 2007, at "First Annual First Anniversary Show I", Zack & Jimmy Havoc were defeated by Adam Shame & Falcon.[32]

On June 3, 2007, at "One More Tam!", Zack & Jimmy Havoc defeated Jexodus (Jekkel & Exodus).[33]

On September 9, 2007, at "Jak'ed Up", Zack wrestled in a four-man elimination contest, featuring Chris Stone, Stiro and Ashton Smith. Chris Stone was the eventual winner of the contest.[34]

On October 7, 2007, at "X", Zack and Chris Stone finally clashed in a singles match. Zack managed to earn a victory over "The Bedworth Bad Boy", making up for the previous loss.[35]

On December 2, 2007, at "Jak'ed Off...The Night The Road Was Crossed", Zack defeated Dragon Aisu.[36]

Westside Xtreme Wrestling

On December 10, 2006, Zack wrestled in the "European King Of The Death Matches Tournament" in Colchester. The tournament was in co-operation with X:Sports Wrestling. Zack got knocked out in the quarter final, in a "Tables, Ladders, Chairs and 10,000 Thumbtacks" match, against Stevie Douglas and Darkside.[37]

On June 11, 2008, Zack Sabre, Jr., made his direct debut for WXW. He fell short to Tommy End, but left a good impression amongst the German fans.[38][39]

On July 26, 2008, Zack defeated Coone and Rico Bushido via submission, in two seperate matches, in one night.[40]

On August 16, 2008, Marc Roudin defeated Sabre, Jr.[41]

Wrestling In Coventry

In what is regarded as a potential 2008 match of the year candidate, Zack Sabre Jr had a technical classic with "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. The match was featured in Fighting Spirit magazine and a DVD release is expected in future months.[42][43][44]
