Dates

Seems unlikely that Prof. Moglen pointed out the legal obligations of *Cisco* in 2002, as they didn't acquire Linksys until 2003. /F. Stevens. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.237.142.10 (talk) 15:42, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page seems like it is bias

Ok, this page seems like it is bias. It does not cite one Linksys fault, such as there terrible customer support, or the fact that they like to frequently refuse to honor there Warranty on their products. 12.152.160.138 18:56, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page focus should be changed

This page is far too focused on a single product made by Linksys and its community modifications. If the title of the article were "WRT54G" then this page would fit perfectly, however this is a page about Linksys as a company and their portfolio of products, their history and their future direction, and as such should reflect at least partial history, perhaps their first successful model, details on their acquisition by Cisco, and such. I will try to add to it shortly.

"Linksys Speed and Range eXpansion, Wifi extension"
If you look up SRX, you are linked to this article, however, there is not mention of this technology on this page. 150.124.1.5 03:05, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's some freckin' moonbat/Linux (no wikilink, srry!)/liberal/geek/snob just giving Linux more plugs on Wikipedia, in which they have enough plugs. A current product line, division stats and division info would be better. Steven312 02:09, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The logo can be replaced by a GPL version from a WRT54G v1-v4 or a WRT54GL. Jesse Viviano 03:23, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rex

There's a vast lack of him here. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 190.30.15.79 (talk) 22:59, 6 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I know, Wikipedia's obviously not Rex enough for Tech Support. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.87.243.214 (talk) 11:34, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why does iphone redirect here?

Is there something im missing? --194.168.3.18 12:32, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because Linksys/Cisco owns the rights to that name and produces a series of products called 'iPhone'... See [[1]] and [[2]] for more detail. 1001001 13:45, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was also confused by this, so based on the information in your links, I've added a dablink. Feel free to clean up the wording as you see fit. --DDG 20:04, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Dablink removed as the article no longer redirects here. --DDG 20:45, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Verbosity

Does anybody think that this page should contain a more comprehensive list of Linksys products? Surely their large presence in the SOHO market should merit some more coverage. At the very least, some other products... --Nerdtalker 03:20, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If someone is interested in putting this information together, I'd suggest not putting it on the page. Reserve the article for notable things about the company itself. A separate page with a list of products is better (especially if there are a lot of items.) See Wikipedia:Lists_(stand-alone_lists), Wikipedia:Embedded_list, and Wikipedia:Lists for more info. Good example of a stand alone product list: List_of_Motorola_products. Nposs 05:20, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have a resource I would like to add to the Linksys article. The resource offers both customers and product users alike the ability to view and add reviews of a specific company. The website does not include and advertising and is setup the same way wiki is, allowing for current users to adapt to the future system very easily. What would be your opinion on this matter? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rhalverson (talkcontribs) 21:05, 15 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

DontUse.org is a Link normally to be avoided. Links to open wikis, except those with a substantial history of stability and a substantial number of editors and it Does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article alread contains. Sorry—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hu12 (talkcontribs) 21:17, 15 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

WRT54G

I hardly think this particular router can be considered "most notable product produced by Linksys" to the exclusion of all others. I suggest removal of this section: the WRT54G article should be sufficient to appease the enthusiast community. 64.114.48.130 03:36, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

While you're at it, delete the article AS spam as well. 205.240.144.220 01:23, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I made and put in a logo, but for some reason, it doesn't show up right. Can someone please see if there is something wrong with how I inserted the picture or if there is something wrong with the file? Althepal 07:13, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spam

This article may be spam. I have Googled this, and all manner of disgusting matter came up, such as "Linksys is shit" and worse. 205.240.146.58 22:20, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Me a troll ? Hell no. Google this and see for yourself. 205.240.146.58 22:22, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WRT54G

Yea, we don't need a whole linksys page about the wrt54g. It's a stub w/out it. I'll delete and write some comment. Colinstu 14:05, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Acctually I won't lol. Don't wanna get banned and that info in there is okay, but there needs to be more info on this page.Colinstu 14:06, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

discontinued

perhaps this article should be changed to reflect the fact that cisco is discontinuing the linksys brand.

It's not being discontinued (not for a while, anyway). I've already made the mistake of adding this! See this correction. RichF 12:36, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Note About Criticism

While reluctant to remove the previous section about criticism the section is not accurate. Some home Linksys Routers and Access Points use a standard Web Based GUI that utilizes Java Script for configuration changes. Mozilla, Opera, Safari Etc. all support Java Script and are able to configure said Linksys Devices no matter what operating system they are being run on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Affinitized (talkcontribs)

Since a few, "citation needed", tags were added, what would be considered appropriate to show that certain switches and routers require ActiveX support? The official linksys documentation is often purposely vague about browser support. I'll try and find the appropriate notes in the docs, but in the likely case they don't mention it, what else would work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.143.84.231 (talk) 14:14, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding citations on the ActiveX required stuff; I think the datasheets are a good source for that. The only 'citation needed' tag though was in regards to Linksys' response to the criticisms (e.g. no demand for non-Windows access, not enterprise devices, etc.). --skew-t (talk) 01:26, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Table of routers and adapters with OS compatibility

I was just wondering if it were good practice to put up such a table. For example, the WUSB600N Wireless Adapter does NOT work with Linux, but works with Windows XP, Vista and Vista x64.

Or is there a comparison of wireless adapters somewhere that I'm missing? Because some adapters do NOT work with x64 vista (Like belkin adapters.) 66.168.19.135 (talk) 14:53, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
