Next issue (September 1/8)

Please keep discussion to appropriate areas. Add a note here if you are planning on writing a story.

The deadline for story completion is Monday, 17:00 UTC
The current time is Thursday, 19:42 UTC. Update

If you want to write a special story about something that happened and has been reported in the news, please write down the topic below as soon as possible, to avoid me duplicating effort in "In the news". enochlau (talk) 07:54, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Due to real-life issues that I've been dealing with, this week's issue will be a double issue. We'll run two dispatches, but the other features should be one single article. For In the News, this just means adding a few more articles. For Features and admins, this means adding the new featured content and administrators. For the technology report, this means adding the new changes to the old ones. For the arbitration report, this means updating any changes in the cases over the last week. Sorry for the inconvenience, and I am planning on publishing this no later than Tuesday. Ral315 (talk) 13:39, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ral, why 2/9 instead of 1/8? Wasn't it always the Monday date? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:49, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    You're right; I just don't know what day it is ;) Fixed. Ral315 (talk) 00:32, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And the only reason I know what day it is (sometimes) is because I set the templates up in advance :-) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:35, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will update mine's on Tuesday night. And someone should cover the Meta wiki logo change. OhanaUnitedTalk page 04:22, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Special stories
    • Wikimedia UK - The wub and Geni both had an interest in this; if neither writes it, I will. Ral315 (talk) 13:39, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    • Signpost tutorial series - User:Mifter/Signpost
      • I'll be honest. I don't see the point in the return of this tutorial series, particularly after such a long time. I'm leaving it out for this week; any thoughts on whether we should publish it next week? Ral315 (talk) 07:26, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Let's not call it a series. Let's make them one-offs, if and when they appear. enochlau (talk) 09:12, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    • Nobody is writing WikiProject features for almost 3 months. Anyone interested is free to fill in and write. OhanaUnitedTalk page 05:19, 20 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • At this point, Rudget is planning to continue them soon. Ral315 (talk) 17:22, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • It is currently being attended to by Roger Davies who is kindly providing the answers. Rudget 18:20, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
        • Any chance of WP:WikiProject Gilbert and Sullivan being one? We're a small Wikiproject, but hit above our weight in terms of FAs and GAs. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 06:50, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
          • Actually, you know what? I've got this. I'll do WikiProject Opera first, if noone objects. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 08:48, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
            • WikiProject Opera wants to wait to hit 5000 articles (they're almost there), so I'll wait on them. I should be able to sort something out, but it'll be touch-and-go as to whether I can get one of them in for this week or not. After that, though, I should be fine. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 11:06, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
              • Heh. Sorry, my eyes somehow skipped over Rudget's post. Oh, well! I have three ready or near-ready to go, so at least we won't have another gap. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 14:03, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia UK has just folded (pretty much anyway there may be some lose ends to tie up). Would it be okey to write an article on that and the ongoing efforts to create a sucessful UK chapter?Geni 02:23, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For the kind of ongoing stuff I mean see m:Wikimedia_UK_v2.0.Geni 02:31, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope to write a brief article on this tomorrow if I have time. the wub "?!" 17:01, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
