Iisa Pa Lamang (Only One) is a Philippine drama series currently shown on ABS-CBN. It is starred by Claudine Barretto, Angelica Panganiban, Diether Ocampo and Gabby Concepcion.[1]

Plot

The story begins on the peaceful hacienda of Amadesto, where three childhood friends Catherine Ramirez (Claudine Barretto), Raphael Torralba (Gabby Concepcion), and Miguel Castillejos (Diether Ocampo) grow up. Later on, Miguel and Raphael who are best friends leave to study in the US, leaving Catherine behind.

After many years, Miguel returns and forms a relationship with Catherine. Raphael also returns but keeps his feelings for Catherine hidden since she has a relationship with Miguel. In the middle of all of this is Isadora Castillejos (Cherrie Pie Picache), Miguel's mother, who objects to the idea of Miguel's relationship with Catherine.

Isadora plots to have Catherine kidnapped, leaving Miguel heartbroken. Isadora then coerces one of the workers in the hacienda to pose with Catherine on her bed while she was unconscious. As it turned out, Catherine was held captive for many months in the basement of the Castillejos hospital.

Miguel loses Catherine's trust and gets married to Scarlet Dela Rhea (Angelica Panganiban). Now homeless and broken-hearted, Catherine promises to have her revenge. She goes to Manila and is married to the wealthy Martin Dela Rhea (Bembol Roco) who turns out to be Scarlet's widower Father. When Catherine is introduced to Scarlet and Miguel as Kate, Martin's new wife, Miguel and Catherine conceal from both Scarlet and Martin that they once had a relationship. Isadora, who is deep in debt, finds out that Catherine is now Mrs. Dela Rhea and blackmails her by threatening to expose her past to Martin.


Martin dies unexpectedly of a heart attack and all his fortune goes to Kate. Later on, a video recorded on Martin's cellular phone is discovered by Sophia and Scarlet. It was a video recorded by a very angry Martin minutes before he died saying that everything he owns will go to his only daughter, Scarlet, and nothing to his wife Kate. He also accuses Kate of having an affair. The discovery of the video gives Scarlet, who hated her step-mother from the very beginning, ammunition to throw her out of the Dela Rhea home.

Catherine, who once again finds herself homeless and moneyless, is rescued by Raphael. Raphael, an attorney, tries to get Catherine to legally fight for her right but she is not convinced. She decides to leave that part of her life behind and start over. She wants the conflict between her and Scarlet to end.


In the midst of the fight, Sophia Castillejos (Melissa Ricks), Miguel's younger sister, falls in love with Toby Torralba (Matt Evans) who is Raphael's younger brother.

As the story continues, Isadora's debts continues to grow and she becomes more desperate for money. She convinces Miguel to run as congressman against Raphael's father, Enrique Torralba, who is running for a third term in congress. Unbeknownst to Miguel, Isadora and Miguel's ex-convict father, mastermind the ambush of Enrique Torralba to guarantee Miguel's political success. Along with Raphael, Enrique Torralba is attacked by gunfire on their way to a campaign motorcade. Enrique dies on the spot but Raphael survives although critically wounded. After Enrique Torralba's funeral, and after Raphael recovers, Raphael announces that he will run for congress in his father's place. Raphael wins the election leaving Isadora disappointed, and more in debt that ever.

Meanwhile, Raphael's secret investigation on Isadora continues. He discovers that Isadora had a first husband prior to marrying the Hacienda owner, Don Victor Castillejos.
