Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Comment
  1. Why does SineBot keep signing stuff I've already signed?
All comments should have a signature that includes both a link to your user page (slakr) and a datestamp (05:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)) (per signatures - internal links). This is most easily generated by placing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your contributions, which makes something like "slakr 05:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)". If you're still having problems after trying that, post a message to slakr.[reply]
  2. I do sign using ~~~~, but the result includes my username as plain text, not as a link.
You have probably changed the format of your signature. Go to "my preferences", then the "User profile" tab, and check the "Signature" field and the "Treat the above as wiki markup" checkbox. If "Treat the above as wiki markup" is checked, then the "Signature" field should contain wikicode, including something like [[User:Your Username|Your Username]]. If "Treat the above as wiki markup" is unchecked, then the "Signature" field should not contain wikicode.
  3. I don't want my comments signed by SineBot. How do I get it to ignore me or my talk page?
Please use one of the opt-out methods listed on its user page.
  4. SineBot forgot to sign something it should have signed.
Usually this happens because the bot isn't sure if it really should sign something, so it defaults to not signing it (e.g., in cases of complex edits). It does this to avoid being annoying. Other times, a comment might be made when the bot is down for maintenance, so the bot simply never sees it.
  5. SineBot signed something that it genuinely should not have signed.
Please let slakr know-- especially if you think it's not a one-time thing.

Whitney Houston

Hi, this guy called Tribal44 is bringing very unreliable sources to Whitney Houston's page in order to prove she's a mezzo-soprano. First, he brings the site made by an unknown guy called Amid Mahdi [1], then he brings another site made from an old Wikipedia page, which is unallowed [2] (Compare that to this: [3]). I have warned him several times on his talk page, but he won't listen and keeps bringign back these unreliable sources. Please issue him a warning or block him. Thank you very much. P.S.- Thanks for telling me how to sign my page. I never knew until now.5 octaves (talk) 21:09, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox link

You might consider linking interested users to the sandbox talk, since I don't expect SineBot would patrol a user page in general, would it? I further assume that SineBot patrols its own talk page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Otherlleft (talkcontribs) 22:49, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SineBot, you help out so much with signatures. This confuses me a whole lot less on talk pages when people don't sign things properly. thank you Unionhawk (talk) 04:59, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The umpteen number of articles on anti-Christian violence in India

There is a question of garnering donations from America and Europe with sob stories of anti-Christian violence, involved in the large number of articles being posted on anti-Christian violence in India, with seperate articles for each every incident for whatever reason on anyone bearing a seemingly Christian name. This is good for India also because it brings in foreign direct investment. I have therefore, decided not to induce any more NPOV in this and similar articles because they are only belly-filling articles; and as such deserve sympathy.
