"Rehab"
Song

"Rehab" is the eighth single taken from Rihanna's third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007) in the US and the UK.[1][2] It has also gained some radio play in the U.S.[citation needed] It was written by Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Hannon Lane, with Timberlake and Timbaland contributing backing vocals in the bridge of the song. The song was also played during the commercial for the 2008 comedy-drama film "The Family That Preys".[citation needed] As of October 15, the song has officially entered the top 50 on pop radio.[citation needed]

Release

"Breakin Dishes" was supposed to be the eighth single from the album, however, releasing "Breakin Dishes" was scrapped and "Rehab" was chosen instead. "Rehab" was released to radio on October 7, 2008.[3] "Rehab" had already been slated for release in August, 2008 in the UK but was pushed back due to the digital release of "Disturbia." Even without the official release yet, the song has been starting to pick up on pop radio as of the end of September. It has been played on New York City's Z100 late September. It was the fifth most added song to radio in Australia, on its first week of release.[4]

It is also been regularly played on New Zealand radio stations The Edge, ZM and music television channels C4TV and Juice TV]- using the live in UK as the music video. It is popularised due to the fact that she will be performing three sold out concerts around the country with Chris Brown.

"Rehab" impacted on the European radio on October 20, 2008.

Critical reception

In his review of Good Girl Gone Bad, Bill Lamb from About.com gave the song a negative review, stating that:"Three songs here include the production touch of Timbaland.2 of the songs are somewhat disappointing, particularly "Rehab" where Justin Timberlake joins the party. "Rehab" simply sounds too much like "What Goes Around..." Part 2."[5]

Music Video

The music video for "Rehab" was shot on October 21, 2008 in Los Angeles. The video features Justin Timberlake. The director is Anthony Mandler. The premiere of the video is yet to be announced.[6] Probably, there is a new version of the song, in the video, which Justin features in the song.
