Thanks!

Thanks for the reverts to my userpage. I had already logged out at the time, so I didn't notice the vandalism. DARTH PANDAtalk 17:20, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome. Unpopular Opinion (talk) 11:33, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads-up. I'd already gone back and undone the one on Bitter:Sweet after I saw your edit comment on The Mating Game before I got your message 92.41.227.152 (talk) 10:25, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank's

Thanks for the heads-up on signing protocol. {{helpme}}Is there any way I can remove the quotation marks from around Dirty Laundry in the Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Submissions/"Dirty Laundry" headline. I put them in originally to distinguish it from the Dirty Laundry song by Don Henley Article but now realise that is not the way to do it and have gone back and removed them in the links from Bitter:Sweet, The Mating Game and within the text of the Article itself, leaving just the headline itself remaining improperly formatted.92.41.227.152 (talk) 10:25, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi! If you want to change a title to a page, like the one mentioned here, just click the move tab above the title, (It's usually 2nd to the far right) and then it should be obvious. By the way, only change the name after the last slash, or it won't be treated as a submission for articles for creation. Cheers! leujohn (talk, contribs) 11:20, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Thank you

U.O., for reverting vandalism to my talk page. Cheers, JNW (talk) 05:26, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

heh, and thank You for doing the same to my talk ;) - Unpopular Opinion (talk) 05:29, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

re: Wikipedia

What, specifically, is vandalized? It's probably somebody vandalizing a template that's used in the page; without knowing what's been changed, it's hard to track it down. The best place to report that is WP:AN/I; secondarily, report it to WP:AIV. —C.Fred (talk) 16:39, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh. I saw that as simple vandalism that was replaced by the time I looked. —C.Fred (talk) 16:42, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi, J.delanoy (an admin of wikipedia) had already removed the links and after speaking with him and having showed that they were not spam or inappropriate links he had told me to restore them, now you have deleted them again thinking they were spam, you can talk to him and you explain that this is not spam but link to applications that implement the algorithm described in the relative pages. Regards --Angelus1383 (talk) 10:56, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

You can view here the discussion with the admin [1] so please restore the changes you've made and remove the warning from my discussion page--Angelus1383 (talk) 11:26, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

I still believe it is an inappropriate link, as it is your own website and the pages you are linking to provide nothing more than a download. Java implementation of the ciphers (if required in those articles) can be found on many other .edu and .org websites[2], I see no reason for plugging in your site. However, I respect the decision of admins/community so feel free to add those links back if they allow you to do so. - Unpopular Opinion (talk) 12:41, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

I fully agree with Unpopular Opinion. I add that there was no community decision to retain the links, on the contrary, it was reverted by three different editors. Angelus1383, you still do not seem to understand that the conflict of interest in adding a link to your own pages is a very serious issue. The correct protocol is that you should suggest the link on the talk pages of the respective articles, and LET OTHERS INSERT THE LINK IF DEEMED APPROPRIATE. Under no circumstances add the links yourself, especially when it has already been reverted more than once. — Emil J. 14:16, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
EmilJ an admin have me given the permission to insert the links, and then I do it. However, Unpopular Opinion, if the case is closed for you can you remove the warning from my talk page--Angelus1383 (talk) 14:26, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Another thing which you do not seem to understand is that admins are not here to give permissions of any kind, but to do administrative maintenance tasks. Decisions of this kind are up to the whole community of editors of the articles, admins have no special power in this. Once again, you have to suggest the links on the talk pages of the articles, and let others decide. — Emil J. 14:32, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
If is as you say then which is the problem to link a page within a java application that implements the algorithms. It's not spam, because is pertinent with the topic and can be useful to people.--Angelus1383 (talk) 14:41, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a software repository. A mere implementation of an algorithm does not in any way advance encyclopedic understanding of the algorithm for the reader, especially if it is an implementation of a trivial algorithm like Ceasar cipher which anybody can implement for themselves. Furthermore, your links are completely unnotable. That is, there is not a slightest bit of evidence that it is a widely known and commonly used implementation with a rich user community, which would distinguish it from many other implementations one can find on the internet. In particular, there is also no reason to believe that the implementations are correct, let alone efficient. — Emil J. 15:00, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok Caesar algorithm can be trivial, but the aks algorithm isn't sure trivial because use also an external library to work with very big polynomial coefficient. Anyway I annoy to discuss, if want restore the link well otherwise there isn't a problem.--Angelus1383 (talk) 15:10, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks (You Stupid Motherfucker)!

Thanks for being a dick and trying to piss Anonymous off...

You can't do me any more harm than vandalizing pages in my userspace, to which I give no fuck. Feel free to do so until the cows come home. - Unpopular Opinion (talk) 06:24, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome. I actually have an inactive administrator account. I just don't feel like getting involved in wiki politics again. ;-) -- 85.233.185.234 (talk) 15:31, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Over Redirect

See WP:MOVE#Moving over a redirect. Nothing to it, just move it, and if the conditions are met, every (autoconfirmed) user can do it. Cheers, AmaltheaTalk 15:44, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Your rollback request

Hello Unpopular Opinion, I have granted your account rollback in accordance with your request. Please remember that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam, and that misuse of the tool, either by revert-warring with others users, or simply reverting edits that you disagree with, can lead to its removal. Good luck. Acalamari 16:58, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes I understand, thanks. - Unpopular Opinion (talk) 17:00, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

hi.

can people get banned??¿¿ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Z10123 (talkcontribs) 13:07, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes, people do get banned if their behavior is not good. Here is a list of banned users. - Unpopular Opinion (talk) 13:09, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
how can you have bad behaviour here?? everyone is on a computer? and can anyone even 9 yr olds get banned? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Z10123 (talkcontribs) 13:12, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Bad behavior here means adding nonsense to articles, blanking out pages, swearing on people, creating nonsense pages etc. Yes, anyone can get banned, it does not depend on age. If you want to contribute constructively, read the welcome message I left on your Talk page. - Unpopular Opinion (talk) 13:16, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

ok thn, thnks alot.--Z10123 (talk) 13:18, 1 November 2008 (UTC) ohh i forgot to ask how can people delete their account and if you get banned is it forever?? --Z10123 (talk) 13:22, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia accounts cannot be deleted. Blocks depend on behaviour, if its extremely bad then they block you forever, but in lighter cases its anything from 3 hours to 6 months. - Unpopular Opinion (talk) 13:23, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

ohh ok, if yhu dnt come on for a while can yhur account dispear??--Z10123 (talk) 09:20, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
Nope, accounts will not disappear. But don't forget your username and password. - Unpopular Opinion (talk) 09:22, 2 November 2008 (UTC)
