The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Cristóbal de La Laguna {Latin: Sancti Christophori de Laguna} is a diocese located in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna in the Ecclesiastical province of Sevilla in Spain. And he understands the islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canaries). His mistress is the Virgin of the Candlemas (Virgen de la Candelaria), being also the General Mistress of the Canary Archipelago. His sedate principally it is the Cathedral of La Laguna, in Tenerife. The Diocese of Tenerife, it has a monthly so called publication "Church Nivariense" (Iglesia Nivariense).
History
Between February and December, 1819 this diocese is created, since previously the Diocese of Canaries was the one that was administering the whole Archipelago.
In the reign of Alfonso XIII, restored the relations between(among) Spain and the Holy See, one proceeds to the fulfillment of the Concordat of 1851, but having being transformed the Diocese of Ciudad Real into Priory(Priorate) of Military Orders, the Vatican demands that there is kept one of the dioceses doomed(condemned) to disappearing, and the bulla Ad Apostolicam of 1875 declares that " it(he,she) will not remove to effect.... the union of the Diocese of Tenerife with that of Canaries " and that " will not have effect the appointment of Auxiliary Bishop for Tenerife ". After several unsuccessful(bankrupt) attempts of Bishop's appointment, he turns out to be renowned D. Ildefonso Infante y Macías in 1877.
The current bishop, 12 º of the diocese of St Kitts of La Laguna is A Monsignor Bernardo Álvarez Afonso.
This Diocese of Tenerife celebrates every February 2 the Holiday(Party) of the Candlemas.

The magazine Iglesia Nivariense (Church Nivariense)
Church Nivariense, it is a magazine of religious character published by the Diocese Nivariense in Tenerife (Canaries, Spain). Also it publishes for other islands that shape the diocese: La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.
His publications are relating to the religious celebrations of Canaries and topics related to religious topics are written more commonly by the reporters of the magazine. It is published especially for the parishes and churches of the Diocese of Tenerife.
