Shane Keough (born September 11, 1986) is a minor league outfielder in the Oakland Athletics farm system. Keough appeared in the Bravo reality show The Real Housewives of Orange County, in which his mother, Jeana Keough, was one of the featured "housewives."

Biography

Keough is the oldest child of Matt Keough, a former pitcher for the Oakland A's and current executive with the team and Jeana Keough, a former model, actress and Playboy Playmate who is now a realtor for RE/MAX in Coto de Caza, California. He has a younger sister Kara, who attends University of California at Berkeley and also acts and models, and one younger brother Colton.

Career

Besides a small yet intense following by a group of students from the University of Dayton, and gays all over the country, Shane is still trying to make a name for himself. Keough entered the Major League Baseball Draft in 2005 and was drafted by the Oakland A's in the 36th round as a draft-and-follow[1][2] pick. According to Jeana Keough, roughly 1000 people were picked before him and he subsequently attended Yavapai College[3] in Arizona to gain more playing time and hopefully attract more attention from the scouts. He was signed by the A's in June, 2006. In the fall of 2006, he played outfield for the Phoenix Athletics in the Arizona League, which is classified as a rookie league or the lowest level of minor league baseball. Keough played for the Vancouver Canadians Single A Short Season Baseball team as an outfielder in 2007 and played for the Single A Kane County Cougars in 2008. During the fall of 2008, Shane played for the A's team in the Arizona fall league for top prospects of each organization.

Besides Shane's father, his grandfather Marty and great-uncle Joe have both played in the major leagues.
