Lutheran High School West, located in Rocky River, Ohio, is a high school affiliated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS). Its goal is to provide an "educationally rich experience in a Christ-centered environment".

History of the school includes separating from the old Lutheran High School in downtown Cleveland (due to the construction of Interstate 90) and separating into Lutheran High School West and Lutheran High School East.

Recent expansions (completed in 2004) have more than doubled the physical size of the school.

Formally a member of the Metropolitan Area Conference (MAC-8), Lutheran High School West is now a member of the Patriot Athletic Conference (PAC-10).

Chapel

Chapel is central to student life at Lutheran West. It is a part of the week that students and teachers alike value greatly.[citation needed] During twice-weekly devotional opportunities, students and faculty join together to learn and grow in their faith life. Each chapel has a unique theme on which a variety of speakers give a message. During the school year, speakers include area pastors and missionaries, among others.

Throughout the current school year, chapel will focus on the school theme "Nothing Else Matters" - Philippians 1:18. While topics might change, each chapel includes time dedicated to prayer and music.

For the 2008–2009 school year the theme is "Reflections of Christ". The students and teachers are supposed to show themselves as a Reflection of Christ.

Many alumni often see chapel as a highlight of the time they spent at Lutheran West.[citation needed] This Christ-centered aspect of our[who?] education certainly makes Lutheran West unique.[citation needed] Parents and friends of the school are always welcomed and encouraged to attend our chapel time.
