Igor Panarin
Igor Panarin is a Russian professor of political sciences as well as Dean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Diplomatic Academy in Moscow. Along with his standard academic career he is the author of several books regarding geopolitics.[1] He is also an analyst for many politics-related television shows in Russia.[1] He wrote a controversial essay predicting the collapse of the United States of America by July 2010 due to the 2008 financial crisis.[2] This was first presented in September 1998, when Panarin attended a conference in Linz, Austria, devoted to information warfare. In 2008 Panarin's theory gained increasing attention from Russian state media. Other commentators such as Vladimir Pozner dismiss his predictions.[3]
