My brief survey's incomplete, but please feel free to edit or add to it. Olihist

Read "Post-WWII Guam" section and decided to expand it a little and add some analysis of Guam today and Guam History in general. Also created "Further Reading" section and added two important (and thorough) histories of Guam. Anyone who has pictures to add to Guam History article, please do so (especially for post-WWII period). Olihist

I dont have economic and demographic statistics off-the-cuff for post-War Guam but possible places to cite, if needed, in the article include the 2000 U.S. Census and Guam Economic Reports (if available online). Olihist

Japanese invasion

The Japanese invasion took place on Dec 10. It is false to state that there had been some sort of prior evacuation of civilians or of American troops. The liberation of course is very important and can well be expanded, but not by distorting the invasion story.Rjensen (talk) 14:03, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The ground invasion began on December 10, but the bombing (the initial attack) began on December 8, which is the same day as December 7 in Hawaii. Not only was Guam attacked on December 8, it was the same date for Hong Kong, Manila, and Malaya. HkCaGu (talk) 15:35, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

World War II

I believe that the World War II section can be greatly expanded(possibly into its own article) to include more detailed information on the initial Japanese invasion, the Japanese occupation, atrocities committed against the Guamanians, return of US military, and effects of the occupation on post-war Guam. Before his passing in 2007, I had a chance to talk with Senator Unpingco about the atrocities committed against the civilian population by the Japanese soldiers, and I believe that they are worthy of an article. Beyond that, I feel the information I collected is incomplete, so I'd appreciate it if someone could help me. Paulino--72.130.227.167 (talk) 09:44, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
