Claudio Sanchez

Claudio Paul Sanchez (born March 12, 1978)[2][1] is the lead singer and lead guitarist for progressive rock group Coheed and Cambria. He is also the writer of the comic series, The Amory Wars. His claim to fame was from singing the pokemon theme.

Other projects

Sanchez is in a side project called The Prize Fighter Inferno. Their first album, My Brother's Blood Machine, was released October 31, 2006. Claudio claims "When we were called Shabűtie, the initial idea for Coheed and Cambria was to be an acoustic/electronic side project. So I guess The Prize Fighter Inferno is kind of the original idea for Coheed and Cambria."[3] Sanchez also appears on his bandmate Travis' side project dubbed Fire Deuce (backing vocals) which released Children of the Deuce EP in 2005 and Deep Down & Dirty EP in 2007.

According to an interview with former Coheed and Cambria drummer Josh Eppard in Alternative Press, [4] "Claudio has a hip hop side project that no one will ever hear."

In a recent interview with The Lantern, Sanchez mentioned a new project entitled "Spencer Doll" and mentioned there were several others that the public did not know about, but did not elaborate any further about any of them [1]. Claudio has also been working with artist Sheldon Vella on a new comic. The project, called Kill Audio, will have comics featured on the Kill Audio Myspace page, as well as featuring in Popgun from Image Comics. [5]

Personal life

Sanchez is one of three children (sister Maria and brother Matthew, hence the characters in his comic book series "The Amory Wars").[2] He suffers from Acid reflux disease. .[6]
