File:NancyHart.jpg Nancy Hart is a woman that has become a legend in the history of the American Revolution. It is not known for sure if any of the actions attributed to her are actually real. She is said to have been home by herself one day during the time of the Revolution when six British soldiers came by her house looking for food. They demanded that she cook them one of the chickens in her yard before they left. She agreed and they all came into her house, sat their guns by the door and sat down at her table to eat the food she cooked them. As they were eating, she picked up one of their guns and pointed it at them. She was cross-eyed so they could not tell who she was looking at. But she managed to hold them until her hunsband came home and hanged them. During the time of the Civil War a militia of women from LaGrange, Georgia named themselves after her.

In memory of Nancy Hart, there is a county named after her:Hart County, Georgia.
