Biography

Melissa Warburg Rosenburg was born in New York City on January 20, 1968; the only child of Joan Rivers and British-born producer Edgar Rosenberg, who committed suicide in 1987. Melissa took on her mother's stage surname for notoriety.

Rivers attended the private John Thomas Dye School in Bel-Air[1] and then The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California. (Joan always fibbed that Melissa went to Beverly Hills High School). She is a 1989 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

On December 12, 1999, she married horse breeder John Endicott. They had one child — a son, Edgar Cooper Endicott, born on December 1, 2000. Endicott and Rivers were divorced on June 19, 2003.

Career

She raised $100,000 for Make-A-Wish foundation.[2] In 1990 Melissa Rosenberg (Rivers) was crowned Queen Shenandoah LXIII at the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival In Winchester VA. Her mother, Joan Rivers was in attendance and arranged the win. As an actress, she has gotten roles in shows including Beverly Hills, 90210, Silk Stalkings, The Comeback and The L Word.

Teamed with and arranged by her better-known comedienne mother, Joan Rivers, Melissa hosted fashion on the red carpet interviews for the E! cable network. After being fired from E!, Melissa began to work for the TV Guide channel, along with her mother, Joan. Both women were again fired and replaced by actress Lisa Rinna.

Melissa is also a regular guest on the webcast show Tom Green Live.

On June 24th 2008, Melissa appeared on NBC’s show Celebrity Family Feud as the Rivers Family Team. She and her mother first battled against the Ice-T Family Team, then went on to compete against the Raven Symone Family Team. They won $50,000 for their charity, Guide Dogs For The Blind.
