eFileCabinet is a global provider of document management and records management software[1]. It is headquartered in Provo, UT.
Overview
The company offers two flagship products: the eFileCabinet document management system and its sister product, Concentsus online backup. Document management software is installed onsite and electronic records are stored locally. The online backup service is offered in tandem to store backups of those records on a remote, offsite server in case the original records are ever compromised. The company currently has more than 18,000 users worldwide in a myriad of diverse industries including accounting, human resources, education, government, medical, and financial services[2].
History
Founded in 2001, eFileCabinet began as an internal tool to digitally store records at founder James Blaylock’s accounting firm[3]. As requests for the software began to grow, Blayblock incorporated in order to improve and market the software[4]. Subsequently, the company originally serviced clients in the accounting industry but has since expanded to include various other industries and trades[5].
On July 9, 2008, Canopy Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm, announced it was investing $1 million in eFileCabinet to enable the company to expand and accelerate their investments in sales and marketing[6].
In the beginning of 2009, the company released its version 4.0 with key upgrades designed to address changing security protocols and regulatory compliance[7].
In February of 2009, the company made changes to its senior management, appointing Craig Jensen as Vice President of worldwide sales and Rourke Mace as Vice President of Business Development[8].
