Ishtar TV (Syriac:ܥܫܬܪ, after the Assyro-Babylonian goddess, Ishtar) is an Assyrian broadcasting channel which has its headquarters at Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. The channel is funded by the Kurdistan Regional Government to promote the political parties working for the KDP headed by Massoud Barzani.[1][2] The channel was launched in the summer of 2005. The language broadcasts mostly in Assyrian (Ashuri), but Arabic and Kurdish are heard throughout the day as well.
