Qik is a free social networking and video blogging service that allows users to stream "Live" video from their cell phones to the internet[1] Qik videos can be streamed to Facebook, Twitter and many other online web 2.0 sites. Qik enables you to run a very small piece of software directly on your phone instead of having to lug around a heavy camcorder to record live action. Qik videos can also be embedded onto social blogging sites like Blogger. Qik, a Silicon Valley startup based in Redwood City, California launched its alpha version globally in November 2007. It has since expanded to support more than 128 cell phones for the Qik software.[2]
Recently, Qik was the first mobile video service to utilize Facebook Connect for videos upload.[3]
