In January 2009, Ewen participated in the UK national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009,[13] in a format similar to the popular British talent show The X Factor. Progressing through four eliminatory rounds, she was eventually selected to represent the UK with the song "It's My Time" and will be accompanied by Lloyd Webber playing on piano on stage with her in Moscow. [14][15]
