Ray was a remarkable talent; I've seen him perform numerous times. Could have been known among THE greats, had he been born at a different time or if public tastes were a bit different now... or perhaps if he had lived longer. As it is he was definitely among the great undiscovered talents.

One minor note though; The Hardrock Goners never played Jazz in any true sense. They played some jazz-influenced tunes and were themselves influenced by jazz. I will not make that edit though out of respect to those who maintain this page. It's not my place.

Content Objection to his sister Eileen

This was part of the Life section:

"My aunt Eileen did not die of suicide what the hell it you want the facts on my family ask me Amber Westfall at ambewestfall@ymail.com I am the neice of Ray and I know more about this family than anyone you all have it wrong very very wrong."

Looks like this was put in by 63.239.75.118 on 26 January 2009. This is obviously an objection to the content in the article and more appropriate for the discussion page. The content on the matter before this objection was: "It was during this time that Eileen, the second oldest and the one Ray was closest to, became severely depressed and finally committed suicide." This was put in by user Dobert on 28 September 2008.

Not knowing the full story, I updated it to the neutral wording, "It was during this time that his sister Eileen passed on," and left it to this discussion page section to debate if it needs to be more specific. Blakecarlile (talk) 18:01, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
