Barnstar

Here is the Photographer's Barnstar for uploading these excellent images of Gary, Indiana. Although some of them don't fit into encyclopedia articles very well, those pictures portray life in the ghettos exceptionally well -- they were just so realistic. Please accept my offer. Thanks. -- Stevey7788 07:04, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Comment: There is a reason that I gave you the barnstar. When used correctly, you can show that some African Americans don't live in the homes that many other Americans take for granted and that we could donate something to charity to help them, but DO NOT use it for white supermacist purposes. And I said realistic, because I realize the photos were realistic. However, I said that "some of them don't fit into encyclopedia articles very well" - because they don't. They degrade a city's pride and heritage. Besides, where are the better sides of Gary? I would like to see them. The pictures of the vacant buildings are not common and are somewhat good, but I would want some pictures of great improvements in Gary. — Stevey7788 (talk) 02:00, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Chicago Spire Site Plans/Example Floor plan

Hey. I saw you posted to the Chicago Spire talk page that you have site plans & an example floor plan? Where did you get them from? Are they fair use? (no copyrights)? Or do you have permission to use them from the copyright holder? Either way, they would be a great addition to the article! Let me know. I can put in the copyright tags if you need help with that. If they are copyrighted we would need permission from the copyright holder. Thanks! Chupper 05:01, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great images. But in order to get the copyright information put in correctly I need some questions answered:
1. Did Santiago Calatrava allow this work to be used for any purpose?
or
2. Did he allow this work to be used on Wikipedia in the Chicago Spire article only? (this is OK too)
Let me know on my talk page. Thanks! Chupper 19:06, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Aqua Chicago zoom.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Aqua Chicago zoom.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Another Barnstar

The Photographer's Barnstar
This is for uploading some images for the Chicago Spire article that would otherwise be impossible to find. Chupper 04:02, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since theres nothing on that page, may I suggest redirecting it to Wikipedia:Deceased_Wikipedians? Thanks! Nwwaew (Talk Page) (Contribs) (E-mail me) 23:28, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know this?

I use Popups, the thing that gives you a peek at the first few lines of an article when you bring the mouse pointer over a wikilink, maybe you do too. I noticed that you had added a couple of categories to AARP, and when out of curiousity I moused over your username I was surprised to see this File:Pistol Browning SFS.jpg come up in the popup. Then I was puzzled when I visited your user page directly and did *not* see it. Then I edited your userboxes. So anyway... if it's by accident, you should keep it; if it's on purpose then I learned something new today. Good thing there's no zero tolerance policy here! Fair use rationale for Image:Badnarik_card.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Badnarik_card.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 08:12, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Badnarik for congress 2006.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

GAR debate on buildings under construction

You are the second leading editor of Chicago Spire. Fair use rationale for File:Alprazolam2mgresize.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Alprazolam2mgresize.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:20, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy).
