Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Kiev has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bpbase\.com\b (links: http://www.pbase.com/enigmawmn/gallery/kyiv/, http://www.pbase.com/enigmawmn/gallery/kyiv_view/).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 13:53, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Stop the Ukrainian respellings
The English language Wikipedia uses the most common English spellings for places. Do not change the spellings of every city in Ukraine. I sympathize with your Ukrainian feelings (I lived in Rivne for a year), but your feelings are inappropriate here. (Taivo (talk) 14:23, 5 June 2009 (UTC))
Kyiv
what people use is a common misconception. Learn something new - the capital of Ukraine is Kyiv. Thanks for your concern :)
Live and Learn my friend :)
- The English-speaking world spells this city Kiev. It is changing slowly, but for now the English language Wikipedia uses the Russian spelling and that is what Wikipedia must follow. In a couple of decades, that might change, but it has not yet. It is you, my friend, who must live and learn the rules of Wikipedia. (Taivo (talk) 14:30, 5 June 2009 (UTC))
- Sorry – but it's a common misconception. I agree with you fully, friend. you probably should request a redirect from Kiev to Kyiv – with Kyiv featuring the full article. So that the mislead public does not perpetuate its own misconceptions :)
All for the good of English speakers. While typing the incorrect (and mostly offensive to Ukrainians) "Kiev" they will be delighted to find out the actual name of the capital of Ukraine :) viola! Everybody is happy. It was very nice chatting with you :)
- Do not continue your actions at Kiev, or I will have to report you and have you blocked. Sorry, but you are being disruptive to Wikipedia, which follows common English usage, no matter how misconceived. As I said, common usage will eventually change to Kyiv, but it has not yet. This discussion has already occurred at Kiev several times in the past. Until common usage in English changes, Wikipedia uses "Kiev". Sorry, my friend, but those are the rules of Wikipedia. You are being warned below (and above). Stop your edits now. (Taivo (talk) 14:41, 5 June 2009 (UTC))
- Do not order people around. Take my advice and learn the correct names of foreign countries. Stop Vandalism.
- You are actual the vandal at this point. You have been warned to stop changing the names of Ukrainian cities without discussion. You must prove that these spellings are the most common English spellings before you change them. Those are the rules of Wikipedia. Stop your vandalism. (Taivo (talk) 15:05, 5 June 2009 (UTC))
Odesa
Please look in Odesa and Odesa Talk pages.
At the bottom.
Everything points to Odesa.
I do not intend warring or anything. But in case of Odesa everything points to the correctness of my action. Once you read - please help me revert it to my version - Thanks.
- I read your comments on Odessa, but you need to understand what a Wikipedia reliable source is. Google searches are absolutely worthless in proving anything at all. You must prove that "Odesa" is the most common English spelling by consulting current media sources, published atlases and maps, gazetteers, and English-language encyclopedias, at least. (Taivo (talk) 15:11, 5 June 2009 (UTC))
- Hold on a minute. Noone proved anything when they reverted from Odesa to Odessa (just a few entries below in history). As well as Odesa Oblast.
As of now evidece shows higher number of Odesa being used than Odessa. Because this is starting to sound dubious - when I am forced to look through and feed everyone thousands of sources when all that person did is write "Everyone calls it Odessa" and viola.
So please, help me revert Odesa and Odesa Oblast to their names as shown. As a sign of good will on your part. Thanks
