Default font in GNU/Linux?

Is it just me or is this font the default font in most modern GNU/Linux GUIs? (sorry for any political incorrectness) I don't actually use GNU/Linux, I use Windows, but judging by screenshots of KDE and GNOME...

Wasn't that the purpose of the fonts? Judging by the page on bitstream.com, it is.

Actually, currently the DejaVu fonts are gaining the role as default fonts. But they are a Vera derivative. — Mikelima 08:14, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should it be mentioned that this font has been selected as the default interface font for the OLPC project? See [[1]] 80.175.142.81 21:28, 14 January 2007 (UTC)benfw[reply]

Picture of font

It would be nice and informative with a picture of the font. How should such a picture be composed?

I've made one, but uploading is currently disabled. (Bitstream has a similar picture, but theirs is wrong - the style of the monospace lowercase L must have been changed since they did it.) --Zundark 23:02, 31 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Infobox

Infobox refers only to vera sans, while the page is about all types of vera? 80.177.58.134 (talk) 13:39, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
