The first confirmed case of Influenza A/H1N1 in Sri Lanka was an 8-year-old boy arrived from Australia on June 14th, 2009.
July 15 - The Epidemiology Unit of Sri Lanka Health Ministry said that the number of Influenza A/H1N1 (formerly swine flu) cases in the country rose to 40 with the arrival of three new patients.
The Epidemiology Unit said in its latest report that two of the new patients are travelling from Australia while the other has travelled from Saudi Arabia.
A majority of the 40 patients have arrived from Australia while four have arrived from North America where the disease has spread heavily. Four patients have come from the UK and two were from Hong Kong.
