Ateneu Deportiu Guixols is a football club from the town of Sant Feliu de Guixols, in the Baix Empordà.

History

As an official founding date of the club in 1914, although there are some references to some of the early matches against Ateneu Cassà in 1913. Ateneu, as an entity in itself, was founded on 1 November 1905. In his honors, the title is the most outstanding achievement of the Catalan Championship Second Category Athletic Sabadell won by 2 to 1 in 1922, as well as 4 consecutive provincial championships between 1919 and 1922. In 1927, the Ateneo disappeared and founded the Center for Sports and Athletic Esbarjos (CEIDA), disappearing again in 1929. In 1930 the club was founded GAAV (Avant Avant Guíxols Visca), who only played friendly matches in nature. It was not until 1932 when the football reborn with strength in the city with the appearance of the House of Sports. In 1934, the House is proclaimed provincial champion, but a year later the club returned to disappear. After the war, was created in the SD of the FACT and the jons, that in August 1939 adopted the same name Iecsalis FC. This disappeared in 1941, he founded the UD Guixolense that he disappeared a year later. Was created in 1943 the Cinnamon Club, later known as Phoenix and Deportivo C.F. Guixols, which later became the current Ateneu Deportiu. The club won the 1964 Trophy Moscardó against CF Reus Deportiu. It has been 11 seasons in Division Three, being the most successful period in the early 2000, with Xavi Lozano as coach. The 2006-07 season, the club militant group 1 of the Regional Business and reached back to the Primera Catalana in overcoming the wheel for a global Barà 2 to 1 in promoting the rise (0-0 to Roda Barà of victory and 2-1 in Sant Feliu de Guixols). Since the 2007-08 season, playing first candidate ever to Catalan permanence.
