Jenison High School is the senior high school for Jenison Public Schools located in Jenison, Michigan serving grades 9 through 12. The school's athletics department competes in the Ottawa-Kent Conference.

Academics

Jenison High School offers a comprehensive curriculum of over 150 courses, has a high standard for graduation requirements, features an award winning music program, and provides full special education services throughout all grade levels. 13 different Advance Placement (AP) courses are offered. The school's ACT scores traditionally exceed the national averages.

Football

Currently coached by Irv Sigler, the team plays in David McKenzie Stadium, which is named after one of the districts former superintendents. Notable alumni of the football program include Paul Grasmanis and David Brandt. Grasmanis attended the University of Notre Dame and played 9 years in the NFL with the Chicago Bears, St. Louis Rams, Denver Broncos, and Philadelphia Eagles. Brandt attended the University of Michigan and played four years in the NFL with the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers.

Baseball

The Jenison baseball program is highly respected in the state of Michigan having won numerous titles through the years. The team is coached by Gary Cook, whose name graces the field on which the team plays due to his long tenure and numerous accomplishments he has achieved with the program. Notable alumni include Bryan Baar and former MLB pitcher Mark Dewey.

Tennis

The team supports both Varsity and Junior Varsity squads. Varsity is coached by Tom Lehrer and Junior Varsity is coached by Math teatcher Mr. Malloch.

The Band

The Jenison band program is nationally recognized and honored, specifically for its marching band. The marching band competes on both a state level in the Michigan Competing Bands Association (MCBA) circuit and nationally in the Bands of America (BOA) circuit. Through the years the marching band has won numerous awards and honors. These include: BOA Grand Nationals Finalist (1992, 1994), BOA Best in Music Class AA (1999), BOA Toledo Regional Class AA Champions (1997, 2000, 2001, 2002), MCBA Flight II State Champions (2001, 2002, 2004), MCBA Flight I State Champions (1991). 2008 Seize the Night

The current Director of Bands is Dave Zamborsky. The Assistant Director of Bands is Michael York, a Jenison High School alumni. The Director of Junior High Bands is Anne Gembis. Ted Bazany serves as the band's Director Emeritus. Prior to his retirement in 2000, Mr. Bazany served as either the Director or Assistant Director of Bands for over 20 years.
