History

The Swedish Navy bought HMS Trossö from Estonia in 1997 and she entered service 1998. She was refitted 2003 at Falkvarv, Falkenberg and now serves the 3rd Naval Warfare Flotilla as a support ship, she also serves as a command ship during larger exercises. In November 2008 it was announced that HMS Trossö together with two corvettes, HMS "Stockholm" and HMS "Malmö", from the Swedish royal navy would be transported by "Eide Trader" and deployed outside the Somalian coast to fight piracy.
