Hi there! To keep the flow of conversations, I like to keep threads on one page where possible. So, if you post a message here, I'll probably respond to it here. Conversely, if I post a message on your talk page, you can respond there if you wish; since I've edited your talk page I'll have it on my watchlist. Thanks!

I am an authorized biographer of Mr. Deutrom. ALL of the info in the article is completely OBJECTIVE and VERIFIABLE. Please let the page be. I'm sure there are more important articles for you to be policing. I assure you that the article is true and written with respect to Mr. Deutrom. Also, please stop sending me threatening messages. I am not involved in an editing war or committing vandalism, and have no conflict of interest in editing this article. I am just trying to convey true and accurate information about Mr. Deutrom. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ActingEditor (talkcontribs) 22:31, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  1. If you are the authorized biographer then you certainly have a real WP:COI as tagged by another editor.
  2. If the data is so VERIFIABLE - then WHERE are the references?
  3. I sent NO threatening messages - the message (just the ONE - not plural) was a standard template message for Content removal without a valid explanation. Removal of valid maintenance templates fits this occasion.
Your actions do not convey the impression of someone "trying to convey true and accurate information"  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:40, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why delete the daily mail comments

Everyone knows the daily mail is run by facists, I just stated the truth —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.5.48.62 (talk) 23:17, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Everyone knows is NOT a WP:RS. Find such a source, and we can let it in.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:20, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

a fan of the daily mail talking to me about realiably sources. this is the best laugh I've had in ages (talk) 6 August 2009 —Preceding undated comment added 23:28, 6 August 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Did I miss something - I don't seem to recall I said I was a fan...! I've not seen one for weeks, there's only ever "The Sun", and "Daily Star" in the canteen at work.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:25, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You were NOT stating the 'truth', it is silly libellous comments like yours which is why I have applied for semi-protection for the article. I will report your IP address if any more edits are added. Thank you Ronhjones for removing the abusive edits. Christian1985 (talk) 14:29, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Greenwich

Hey. I'm on a router and my brother-in-law attempted a mass edit of Greenwich to exclude the "W" in order to in an argument over its spelling. He was caught in the act and the edit is not a representation of my usual activity editing Wikipedia. I apologize for the inconvenience. 24.250.40.66 (talk) 02:29, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Then why not consider an account, it will cost you nothing, then you can edit under your user name. If anyone else on the same router edits, then they will be logged as the IP address - if they play up and get message and/or blocked, if won't affect yourself, and you won't be plagued with their messages.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:07, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have an account, but it isn't involved in this matter, which is why I haven't brought it in. 24.250.40.66 (talk) 23:27, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
See? Bohsocks (talk) 23:28, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Then you might want to consider not editing with the IP address, in case it gets used by someone else - possible that an editor could report for WP:SOCK - just a thought.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:44, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fuck off.

template swansea city

plz dont revert again. i created it and i need to fix sum thin so i trying different things out. Swanseajack4life (talk) 23:06, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It was not reverted. If a page is blanked by the major author then most editors will put an A7 CSD template on it - don't leave it blank if you want to keep it ready.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:10, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ok then. wat i had tried didnt work. i made a double template on the subjectthe only difference is a full stop at the end of c and i am trying to delete the one without the dot. do u know how i can sort this out? Swanseajack4life (talk) 23:13, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have a read at WP:CSD - just add the appropriate template to the top of the page - if you are the major contributor then use the template on Template:Db-g7. Some time later and admin will delete the page for you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:20, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the advice. i will try it out 2moro —Preceding unsigned comment added by Swanseajack4life (talkcontribs) 23:25, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the vigilance you have shown with regard to vandalism. However, the edit I have made is not vandalism. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you still consider it to be vandalism. I will revert in good faith. --86.12.24.209 (talk) 22:40, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you re-read your edits. occupation = Mangetout looks like vandalism to most people.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:44, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I beg your pardon! lol It seems we've both been in error. The addition of mangetout was made before my edit. I think the first person to revert my edit put the correct occupation in and I changed it back unthinkingly... I didn't think about the word mangetout, embarrassingly! I shall restore my edits (and my removal of the hidden white text vandalism), WITHOUT restoring the incorrect occupation, and hopefully that will be that! My apologies for the misunderstanding. --86.12.24.209 (talk) 22:50, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why? Is there a guideline? --Leyo 23:03, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean WP:D, WP:MOSDAB, and in particular MOS:DABRL? Disambiguation pages are not Articles. The "ideal" disambiguation pages is a list of two or more items, each with a single blue link, which helps the user to find the proper Article page (s)he wants.
The ideal one maybe. Ideally, European chemical Substances Information System would already exist on en-WP. On de-WP, there are hundreds of links to European chemical Substances Information System. --Leyo 23:27, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But nothing on en-WP even links to the non existent European chemical Substances Information System page, (except this page now!) - check Special:WhatLinksHere/European chemical Substances Information System, also that red link had been in place for a year. You know what us Brits are like - we are not that interested in Europe (unless forced)! Also for what it's worth, I'm an industrial chemist, and I've not heard of it.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:36, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's your fault, see Special:LinkSearch/http://ecb.jrc.ec.europa.eu/esis. :-) --Leyo 23:53, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am busy finding the sources at the moment, please could you put it back on so I can add them, it took me ages to write, thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.240.233.198 (talk) 23:33, 12 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing is ever deleted from a live article - everything is there in the history, just click the History Tab and find the one you want, you can then select edit and copy the old data so that you can paste it into the current page. The old page you want can be seen at [[1]], but it cannot be left live until the reference is obtained.

can u justify why u are deleting my addition to the article? You have removed it 3 times and I asked why u removed and yet you did not reply? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tamildiaspora (talkcontribs) 22:30, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have plenty of messages on your talk page - basically breaking WP:NPOV and WP:MOS  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:36, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Then what in the world is a "chair", chemically? I mostly work on Wiktionary, and we are definitely missing a sense if this is the correct word here. 86.164.188.106 (talk) 23:19, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not easy to describe in words! Cyclohexane rings cannot be flat, so they exist in one of 2 conformers - chair or boat, the chair is a lower energy system (unless there are many groups attached forcing that shape) - see also Cyclohexane and pic below - it's shape is roughly a chair.

 Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:25, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And now I find the page! Cyclohexane conformation  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:28, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Interesting. I'll come back to this. 86.164.188.106 (talk) 23:51, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Calcium gluconate

Thanks for the nice new SVG structure at calcium gluconate. I've put it in the appropriate category on Commons.

One thing needs attention: the negative charges on the gluconate ions are missing so pale that you can barely see them!

Ben (talk) 14:22, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did notice, and I have been playing around with Isis and Scribus to see if there is an easy answer - in the end I think it will be an Inkscape tweak - the "bars" are just a single bar in Svg, so one can fairly easily adjust the width without upsetting the rest of the drawing. Question! - how wide? Inkscape put it as 0.125 thick - compared to the width of a single bond at 0.750. Should I make it the same, or a wee bit less - say 0.500 (4 x thicker than original). I've the same problem to fix with Calcium diglutamate.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:25, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Same thickness as the lettering and the bonds, I guess. As long as it's legible.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Ben (talk) 20:12, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changed to 0.75px thick - I think that will do.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:21, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks great, thanks very much.
