Victor Nemkov is a Russian Combat Sambo competitor, and mixed martial arts fighter. He is the 2008 Russian Combat Sambo Champion in the 90 kg weight category, and the 2009 World Cup champion. Victor is also among the youngest champions in Combat Sambo, at the age of 22. He is among many young developing fighters from the Red Devil sports academy where is he preparing for an mma career.[1] In 2008 Victor debuted against fellow newcomer Christian Bombay, where he demonstrated his promise after securing a quick first round submission victory. Then moving on to three more M-1 Challenge competitions, Nemkov continued his success against fellow developing Russian prospects. In the 2009 M-1 Mixfight Challenge Victor represented the Imperial Team (Red Devil Team) but faced a significant increase in level of competition against American veteran Tony Lopez. Early in the match Nemkov showed his promise again, displaying a command over his grappling skills, and improved striking abilities, however as Nemkov became more brash in the second round, Lopez took advantage and was able to secure a rear naked choke submission three minutes into the second round. Lopez currently remains on a 13 fight win streak, while Nemkov improved to 5-1, at the M-1 selections 6 event in Dagestan, Russia where he defeated Rasul Magomedov. Despite his loss, Nemkov remains one of the most promising young fighters from the Red Devil team, and in the M-1 system.
