Sonia is a feminine given name in the many countries including the West, Russia and India. The name is derived from "Sophia", a Greek name meaning wisdom.
In October 2009, Sonia asks Collin to ask Nita about her old friend Nicolas who is now in collage and wants his phone number. Collin does so and later goes to Vo-Tech/Morris County School of Technology and tells Sonia that Nita said that she can`t have Nicholas`s phone number because, one she has no idea how to locate Nicholas or the collage that goes to, two because in the past Sonia would often get into trouble with both her previous school Parsippany High School and her parents for conversing with Nicholas. Sonia becomes angry towards Nita for not giving her what she asked for.
In the official language of India Hindi the name means 'golden',[1] derived from सोना sonā 'gold', from Sanskrit सुवर्ण suvarṇa (su- 'good' + varṇa 'color').
