Predating Stoner/Doom scene?

I find this claim questionable as the two releases that are generally considered the start of stoner metal (Kyuss' Blues fot the Red Sun and Sleep's Holy Mountain) were both released in 1992, and both bands (and other important stoner/doom bands) were active before 1992, which is when the article claims Sons of Otis were formed. ~W35M4N
